The Buyer is responsible to analyzes and plan purchases in line with inventory KPI's and understands purchasing and planning, both domestic and international, along with freight contracting. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSPromotes a positive, safe working environment.Using data to identify the issues and establish, drive process for improvement.Recognize waste in procuring materials and works to fortable with constantly changing priorities on tight- deadlines and demanding customers.Works primarily independently to achieve goals outlined by management.Ability to work and commute in diverse groups from manufacturing floor workers to senior management.Works on a KPI driven system and how to structure work to achieve KPI pleting daily work in both office and plant environments.Other duties as assigned.REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE5-15 years of professional experience in purchasing required.Experienced working with ERP system and creation of purchase orders.Data mining tool experience is preferred.Familiar with variety of metals manufacturing concepts, practices and procedures is preferred.Lean Manufacturing, Quality, Cost and Safety systems experience is preferred.Experience in supplier development and building long-term relationships. COMPETENCIESAble to assess suppliers' technical competencies and capabilities and determine fit for production.Excellent customer and supplier relationship management.Strong sense of time organization and urgency.Able to work independently and within a team.Exemplary customer care skills.Good analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.A proactive, creative, honest and self-reliant personality, critical thinking, pragmatic & strong project management skills.Candidate must best self-starting, efficient, and organized.Experienced with MS Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.Fluency in English.
