Reference #: THE POSITION Start your career with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania! The Department of General Services is seeking a reliable Custodial Worker 1 within the Harrisburg Regional Division. This position performs general cleaning of offices, restrooms, and other public areas. Take pride in your work. DESCRIPTION OF WORK The Custodial Worker 1 position involves sweeping and mopping restroom floors and washing and cleaning all restroom furnishings. You must ensure that adequate amounts of restroom supplies are available and provide replenishment as needed. Discrepancies, such as burnt-out or blinking light bulbs, plumbing leaks, clogged drains, should be reported to the immediate supervisor. General cleaning, dusting, and polishing are completed on office furnishings and office equipment. Additional duties will include: Various window and glass cleaning Operating pallet jacks and dollies to move furniture and materials from one area to another Utilizing a commercial heavy-duty scrub machine (buffer) to clean and buff floors Snow and ice removal is required from building entrances, exits, sidewalks, driveways, stairways, with distribution of deicing materials where needed Interested in learning more? Work hours are 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. Essential Employee- Required to report to work during emergencies and office closings.
