We primarily serve other engineering firms, public agencies, and businesses on projects consisting of water and wastewater treatment plants, reservoirs, and pump stations, chemical storage, and commercial buildings. This position provides an incredible opportunity to learn from some of the top engineers in the area. You will work side by side with senior-level engineers in the preparation of plans, specifications, and reports by producing design calculations, performing technical analyses, and researching updated design standards. This position will also work in the field collecting technical data and information for analysis for electrical design tasks. Location: 2300 Clayton Road, Suite 1450 Concord CA Alternate Office Location: 1111 Broadway, Suite 300 Oakland, CA Status: Full-timeSchedule: Monday - Friday Start/End times have some flexibility - we strive for an 8-hour workdayHybrid "Work from Home-Office" routine is a consideration after the initial training period. Primary responsibilities may include the following:For limited-scope projects, Project Lead responsibilities may include assisting with project planning, scoping, proposing, and coordinating the technical activities of the team, managing the budget, design, QA/QC, and production. Primary responsibility for a specific element of a project or activity such as design of a single power system for a building or basin within a larger project. Ensures that overall engineering objectives are met, and progress is communicated. Resolves operational issues and keeps project on schedule and within budget. Prepares intermediate-level drawings, calculations, estimates, specifications, and reports and collects technical data for analysis to perform electrical design tasks. Develops an understanding of all electrical codes and software used in the design of TJCAA client projects. Develops electrical design reports, calculations, and drawings for TJCAA client projects that incorporate current electrical design codes and standards, project specifications, and TJCAA standards. Interacts with clients, contractors, and/or subcontractors to obtain technical data and information necessary for electrical designs, working with multidisciplinary engineering groups, such as mechanical, architectural, structural, control systems programmers, and civil. Prepares project deliverables using TJCAA standards and practices, while incorporating client requirements, all within specified timelines and quality control requirements. Education and/or Experience5 -7 years' working experienceElectrical engineering professional experience related to the design of power, lighting, and control systems for water and wastewater treatment structures and other facilities preferredPE license in CA Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from a four-year, accredited college or universityMust be a U.S. Citizen or qualified to work in U.S. without Employer Visa AssistanceThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by those assigned to this job.
