Senior Software Engineer (Backend)

I'm recruiting for one of the most advanced NLP start-ups in New York City. Their open-source content discovery platform uses NLP to extract research and connect data points across the internet. This is transforming the way researchers find peer-reviewed journals, studies and specific datasets. The platform has a user base and the company has received $12.3m in Series A funding. They're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to take ownership of scalable system-building with a world class team. This is a creative, impactful role that will shape the infrastructure, APIs and deployment process behind the platform. You'll report to the Director of Engineering. Key Requirements: Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer Science (related field) 5 years of backend engineering experience Strength with Python Knowledge of cloud services and infrastructure (AWS/ GCP/ Azure Passion, flexibility and problem-solving ability Added bonuses: Experience using containers (Docker, Kubernetes) Knowledge of microservice architecture and design Experience with data migrations while maintaining service availability Experience with graph databases This is a brand new & urgent position.
