Position Overview: The Project Controls Specialist will play a key role in overseeing the planning, scheduling, and cost management functions of large-scale energy and construction projects. The ideal candidate will work closely with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure the successful execution of projects, maintaining alignment with budgets, schedules, and quality standards. Key Responsibilities: Project Planning & Scheduling: Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules using Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar software. Monitor and report on project progress, identifying potential delays or deviations from the plan. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on project timelines and milestones. Cost Management & Reporting: Track project budgets, expenditures, and forecasts to ensure adherence to financial targets. Generate regular cost reports, analyzing variances and proposing corrective actions as needed. Collaborate with procurement and finance teams to monitor cost trends, contracts, and change orders. Risk Management: Identify project risks and assist in the development of mitigation strategies. Perform risk analysis and recommend adjustments to project controls and plans to minimize impact on schedule or budget. Communication & Stakeholder Engagement: Prepare and deliver project status reports to internal and external stakeholders. Facilitate communication between project teams, senior management, and clients to ensure transparency and alignment on project objectives. Support contract management and ensure that all documentation aligns with project goals and contractual obligations. Quality & Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements. Monitor project performance indicators to ensure quality control and adherence to safety protocols. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field. 3-5 years of experience in project controls, cost management, or scheduling in the energy, utilities, or construction sectors. Proficiency with project management software such as Primavera P6, MS Project, and cost control tools. Strong understanding of energy infrastructure projects (e.g., transmission, distribution, substation, or renewable energy projects). Excellent analytical skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working with diverse teams and stakeholders. Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory frameworks within the energy and construction sectors.
