Associate Financial Advisor Job Summary: The Associate Financial Advisor will engage in a comprehensive training program that includes financial planning, analyzing investment portfolios, investment management, and portfolio recommendations, consultative selling, client service, and regulatory compliance. The primary responsibility of the position is to work with and support a senior Financial Advisor while establishing new client relationships of their own. This position will require some evening hours and local travel will be necessary. Nature and Scope: This position works with Investment Advisor Representatives and client servicing team. This position regularly interacts with clients, all company departments, vendors, and producing advisors to implement new clients and support existing clients to benefit from increased use of the companies' services. Responsibilities: Sales Support and Existing Client Servicing (45% 0-1 year / 30% 1-2 years / 25% 2-3 years) Supports advisors in sales cycle Recommends portfolio/robust product solution that will fit the client's risk tolerance, goals, and time frame in accordance with the senior advisor Runs illustrations and hypotheticals Develops appropriate product deliverables Executes appropriate trades to align with proposed portfolio Conducts and/or participates in client meetings to present recommendations/deliver advice Coordinates client follow-ups and tracks/holds clients accountable to agreed upon actions Documents all client interactions in Redtail Sales - Prospecting and Networking (20% 0-1 year / 30% 1-2 years / 35% 2-3 years) Attends company client and networking events Sources prospective client opportunities by capitalizing on networking and referrals Documents all prospecting activities, centers of influence, and networking events in HubSpot Develops and implements a business plan to generate investment and life insurance sales in collaboration with the VP of Sales and Marketing and the marketing team Engages with sales professionals within other Duncan Financial Group Lines of Business to identify and create cross sell opportunities Attains annual sales goals Sales - New Client Onboarding (10% 0-1 year / 15% 1-3 years) Assesses the clients' risk tolerance Assesses the clients' goals and time frame Persuades clients to act upon suitable advice/recommendations Conducts transactions on behalf of clients Identifies clients to engage or re-engage in planning relationships Prepares for client meetings focused on planning discussions Performs case analysis and develop recommendations Answers questions and provide readily available information to clients, if requested, as it relates to servicing their accounts Conducts thorough financial assessments of clients' current financial situations Provides recommendations on investment strategies and asset allocation Assists clients with retirement planning, estate planning, and tax planning Monitors clients' investment portfolios and makes adjustments as needed Builds and maintains strong relationships with clients through regular communication and meetings Collaborates with other professionals, such as attorneys and accountants, to provide holistic financial solutions Professional Development (10%) Develops and maintains a professional development plan Maintains all appropriate licensing by completing continuing education requirements plus required training elements Develops and maintains wholesaler relationships Attends and participates in department meetings, sales meetings, IPC, weekly Duncan Advisor Resources Rep Calls Attends and engages in sales seminars, company sales meetings, or educational activities needed to improve sales techniques and stay up to date on the latest developments in the marketplace Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, or similar major 1+ years working in an Investment Advisory Firm, or 3+ years of sales experience Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software and/or Agency Management System software Working knowledge and practical experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required Ability to analyze complex financial concepts and explain them in simple terms to clients Active FINRA Series 7 license with a 66 or 63, or an active 66 preferred If not currently securities licensed, must have passed the SIE exam and be able to obtain additional licensing within first 90 days Life, Accident & Health License preferred Analytical ability is required to interpret data and situations that are complex Ability to demonstrate effective interpersonal skills as well as sound judgement, professional, confidentiality and good decision-making skills Must be able to communicate effectively and professional both verbally and in writing Follows high standards of business and professional ethics and legal and regulatory requirements when dealing with others and/or performing work activities Hours: Monday -
