Line of Business: Technology Solutions Job Description: Head of AMCB Commercial Lending Technology leads/oversees a diverse team of IT professionals (e.g. Development, Support teams and/or Business Systems Analysts. Technology Project Managers, etc.,) and is the key interface with the business executive team / internal partners and key stakeholders in assessing scope, planning and delivering the most optimal end to end technology solution or service by effectively managing resources / services and support as well as relevant costs to enable business strategies. Role generally aligned to key Business Segment (LOB), Products, Enterprise Platform, Service or Capability under a Segment CIO or Functional Leader. Location: position can be remote. Job Description Depth & Scope For TD Bank Group AVP Equivalent Positions - roles will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and subject to Senior Executive / HR approval: Sets direction and oversees a significant and diverse group/mix of technology professionals in the end to end delivery of technology solutions and/or services for a significant business portfolio / segment Generally involved in overseeing large complex technology projects, system enhancements /applications and/or application management and requires top level expertise/specialization combined with management of a discrete unit or function, having significant autonomy and a long term business perspective Generally supports a key business segment, corporate function or segment CIO partner and regularly interfaces with senior executives at the SVP/VP level Accountable for a significant and sizeable budget for either on-gong maintenance and/or new developments/system enhancements for assigned business clients at the executive level Manages a diverse range of IT professionals typically through a management team that directly manage a team of specialists involved in complex integration, development or system maintenance projects (where team size generally exceeds 50+ FTE and additional third party resources) Oversees end to end delivery for a significant portfolio or suite of applications/platforms comprised of multiple concurrent projects / programs that can be enterprise in scope and generally up to and including projects at the Tier 1 level, with a high complexity profile Role typically reports to a more senior Executive role (e.g. TDBG VP equivalent or above) Experience: Undergraduate degree or Technical Certificate Graduate degree, preferred 10 - 15+ years related experience preferred Accountability EEO Code Description Managers, other than those who serve as Executive/Senior Level Officials and Managers, including those who oversee and direct the delivery of products, services or functions at group, regional or divisional levels of organizations. Receive directions from the Executive/Senior Level management and typically lead major business units. Implement policies, programs and directives of executive/senior management through subordinate managers and within the parameters set by Executive/Senior Level management. Serve at functional, line of business segment or branch levels and are responsible for directing and executing the day-to-day operational objectives of the Company, conveying the directions of higher level officials and managers to subordinate personnel and, in some instances, directly supervising the activities of exempt and non-exempt personnel. Includes those who report directly to middle managers. Customer Accountability Understand and support the Banks Customer Service Strategy. Consider the impact of advice and decisions on the well-being of the Bank, as well as its customers, its employees and stakeholders. Provide the highest level of Customer service when dealing with internal partners, vendors or our Customers - WOW at every opportunity. Lead, coach and model quality service delivery at every interaction. Support the ongoing improvement of the partner/Customer experience. Support the creation of goals and objectives for the business unit/function. Communicate those goals and objectives to the team. Community Accountability Represent TD at civic, professional and bank-sponsored events; serves on non-profit boards and participates on professional organizations. Represent the franchise both internally and externally; develop and maintain relationships with major clients, regulators, and the investment community and, with other TD leaders, support a high, positive public profile for the TD franchise. Financial Accountability Support the development and implementation of operational strategies and objectives to achieve measurable excellence in the quality delivery of sales, service, and products aligned with Best Run concepts and overall enterprise strategy and objectives. Participate in establishing and executing plans and goals for the Business to drive toward results. Develop and maintain an operating budget, ensuring adherence to budget. May delegate budgetary assignments to direct reports, but maintains overall budgetary responsibility and oversight. Provide financial reports and analysis including budget variances to management on a regular basis. Business Operation Accountability Communicate business strategies, programs and practices establish and operate change strategy throughout the organization. Deliver business services, functions and capabilities that optimize the use of process, technology and our people, and take advantage of TDs scale and operating model. Ensure TD is a best run, integrated, customer-focused, growth organization. Understand business unit/functions own risk appetite statement, objectives for risk and control, and measures, where applicable, making sure these are aligned with TDs Risk Appetite. Ensure that the business / function operates within TDs Risk Appetite by tracking key metrics against its policies, procedures and limits. Successfully complete all required job specific, compliance-related training and ensure team members complete all required training. Understand, utilize and follow compliance/risk and control programs. Consult with all risk functions in the development and documentation of policies, procedures and controls, for all department processes. Ensure ongoing compliance with internal / external audit and regulatory requirements. Provide prompt and comprehensive response to all external audit, regulator and compliance requests and findings. Maintain appropriate records of action plans.
