Location: 850 76th Street S.W. - Byron Center, Michigan 49315 Job Description: Position Summary: This role is responsible for supporting the OwnBrands Manager in developing and managing the 4P's (Product Mix, Pricing, Placement, and Promotion) of the OwnBrands Business plan to assigned categories at the Wholesale and Retail levels. Under the direction for the OwnBrands Manager, analyzes and determines assortment across distribution and retail stores. Coordinates with the Shelf Technology Team to optimize sales and gross margin results within assigned categories. Partner with the OwnBrands Manager to develop and implement a strategic pricing approach to generate profitable sales in the assigned categories and negotiate allocation of supplier funding to help support the pricing initiatives of the company and its retailers. Assist the OwnBrands Manager with promotion funding and activity with suppliers and works with the Sales Team to drive effective execution of Sales Initiatives. Here's what you'll do: Participates in the development of comprehensive OwnBrands business plans that are consistent with the company's overall goals and strategies. This involves applying tactics in areas of assortment, pricing, promotion, shelf placement and coordinating implementation with cross functional teams. Develops insights and recommendations from the analysis for the OwnBrands Manager to apply to the business. Maintains relationships with supplier partners tofacilitateeffective customer solutions planning to increase sales and profits, lowerproductscosts, maximize trade funds andoptimizepartnerships. Support the OwnBrands Manager in tracking market gains, indirect margin, and achieving private label market share. Assists in developing and maintaining private label performance to achieve overall company goals of "best-in-class ratings through packaging, innovation and strategic positioning. Attends weekly meetings as a representative of the OwnBrands Manager to ensure plans are communicated to the Promotion Director as per instructions from the OwnBrands Manager. Assists the OwnBrands Manager with creating,planningand coordinating the weekly ad plans for independent customers and owned retail stores. Creates and publishes presells and catalogs withproductthat support the weekly ad and seasonal sales plans. Responsible forproofingthe ads to ensure that the products and prices communicated in the final ad are exactly what was negotiated and planned. Communicates all ad changes to OwnBrands Manager and the Director on all promotional activity revisions. Responsible to collaborate with the procurement team, input and adjust data in sales plans andvalidatesupplier to support assigned category OwnBrands Business planning. Maintains current knowledge of industry trends and bestpractice's, makes recommendations to improve current programs and processes. Additionalresponsibilities may be assigned as needed. Here's what you'll need: Bachelor's Degree (Required) Business Administration, Food Marketing, or other related field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Two (2) years'experiencein marketing, category management, product management, field sales, store leadership and/or product development experience in retail or wholesale industry. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong financial acumen, analytical, influencing and negotiations skills. Working knowledge of category planning practices. Experience working across business units to leverage resources and capabilities to accomplish company goals. Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Nielsen Category Management, Power BI, purchasing systems, or similar systems experience a plus. Project management experience is a plus. Ability to travel between 10-15% depending on assigned categories.
