Associate Designer - Soft Home

Reports To: Director of Design and Product DevelopmentPosition Overview: We are seeking a creative and highly motivated Associate Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in design and product development for home textiles with a focus on decorative pillows and table linens. This role involves working closely with our sales team and factory partners to develop new and innovative products that meet customer expectations. Please apply with portfolio for consideration. Key Responsibilities:Design & Presentation Development: Collaborate with the design team in creationof original textile surface designs. Assist with developing color palettes, fabricselections, and printembellishment design that align with customer needs,seasonal trends, and brand aesthetics. Prepare and curate compelling productpresentations for design concepts to communicate ideas effectively to teammembers and buyers.Sample Development & Review: Assist with sampling needs from design conceptthrough production. Prepare production artwork and product specifications forsample development. Daily communication with factories on tech packs, samplingneeds. Evaluate samples and submits to ensure they meet specifications andquality requirements.Design Material Management: Maintain and organize design files, swatches, anddocumentation for easy access and reference. Support design team with projectmanagement tasks, including updating PD trackers, follow up on project andsampling status.Cross-Functional Team Collaboration: Work with sales, design, factory partnerson product development. Partner with internal teams to understand customerpricing and quality needs, prepare samples for sales style outs. Provide suggestionsto overseas suppliers to enhance product design while minimizing municate with licensors on product design and sample approvals.• Market Research & Analysis: Conduct regular online and brick and mortarcompetitive shopping research on current market trends and consumerpreferences, presenting findings to the design team to inform seasonal collections.Qualifications:Education: Bachelor's degree in Textile Design or equivalent work experienceExperience: Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in home textile design & productdevelopment.• Skills:Creative and innovative thinker with a passion for home textiles.A keen eye for color, design composition, and typography, and ability tocreate saleable designs for US marketProficiency in Adobe Photoshop and IllustratorKnoweldge of soft goods product and fabric constructions (printwoven) andembellishment techniques & manufacturing processes.Excellent organization, project, and time management skills with the abilityto manage multiple projects simultaneously.Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaborationwith cross-functional teams and external partners.Proactive nature and positive, results-focused attitude
