Major Gifts Officer

***Local candidates only, this is on-site 4 days per week in Manhattan, NY***Targeting $30-35hr temp and $70-90k perm, potential for some flexibilityGift OfficerContract to hireMust Haves:*Bachelor's Degree*3+ years of fundraising experience within non profit*Experience with major gifts, donations of $10-20klarger donors*Leadership skills and strong communicator *Progressive fundraising experience*Grant proposal writing and ability to close major giftsPreferred:*Prior management experience The Gift Officer will report to the VP, Development and assist with a variety of tasks to further mission, primarily to grow and cultivate the organization's network of donors.ResponsibilitiesParticipate in all aspects of the gift cycle, working independently to initiate contacts with potential donorsMaintain stewardship contacts with donors; maintain sensitivity to needs of the donorsAssist in the process of receiving and acknowledging gifts on a weekly basis.Track donations for specific projects by maintaining spreadsheet and slack channel.Help develop and implement strategies for donor outreach.Take ownership of tasks such as Silent Auction outreach for GalaProvide support to team for social media.Collaborate with the team on newsletter communications.General administrative tasks as needed.Improve proficiency in communications and website maintenance.Ability to lead and manage development associates.
