Aluminess designs, fabricates and welds bumpers, roof racks, and accessories for an ever-growing number of vehicles of various makes and models. Aluminess is located in Santee. Ability to reliably commute to Santee is required. Local candidates will be given priority, remote applicants welcome.Key Responsibilities: Design products using CAD and consult with marketing manufacturing teammates to ensure designs are meeting necessary requirements.Evaluate and improve current product offerings by applying knowledge of design, fabrication, and assembly techniques.Trouble shoot, provide process improvements, cost reductions, and plan projects to support company goals.Develop, design, test, and conduct cost analysis of products, processes, and machinery.Collect data to determine standard operation times and make independent decisions on improvements to manufacturing and documentation processes.Assure compliance with engineering principles and quality standards.Work with internal team members and external suppliers to accomplish proposed improvements.Estimate and evaluate product costs prior to release by creating bill of materials to include material, labor, and supplier costs.Conceptualize and create new products and support all current product offerings by creating robust testing procedures and following the product development process workflow.Provide solutions to technical problems.Evaluates and services equipment as needed.Required Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering andor the equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.Experience: Minimum 3+ years' experience in mechanical engineering or other related fields.Automotive andor manufacturing experience is preferred.Skills: Familiarity and proficiency in 3D modeling skills (Solidworks)and must possess the ability to read work with engineering drawingsStrong problem solving and critical thinking skillsAbility to prioritize and multitaskProactive self-starter; self-motivator; willing to do what it takes to get the job doneMust have strong computer skills, being able to work in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other databases
