Trustpoint.One is assisting a defense litigation firm in its search for an Insurance Defense Paralegal. The firm handles matters for corporations and individuals nationwide including commercial litigation, construction defects, insurance coverage and liquor liability. Insurance Defense Paralegal Duties: - Provide administrative support to attorneys - Prepare standard correspondence, memoranda and other legal documents - Electronically file documents with courts - Monitoring incoming court filings - Handle communication with opposing counsel, clients, witnesses and experts - Maintain attorney calendars - Conduct social media, internet and docket searches - Locate and develop case relevant information. Monitor deadlines - Prepare and serve subpoenas and authorizations for medical, employment and insurance records - Summarize medical records into a chronology for attorney use/reference during litigation - Schedule depositions and issuing subpoenas to attend and testify. Qualifications: - Minimum two years insurance defense experience - Paralegal Certificate - Strong communication skills and knowledge of legal communication practices and principles - Ability to think ahead and anticipate the needs of the attorneys - Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints - High proficiency and strong technical skills with Microsoft Office Suite and document management software - Must be proficient in Outlook, Word, Adobe, and court e-filing system. All candidates must be able to work at a computer screen for a sustained amount of time.
