Magazine and industry leader PSMJ. The Opportunity: McKinley Architecture and Engineering is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer (PE) to join our team. As a full-time member of our engineering department, you will "hit the ground running" in a dynamic role, working directly with our engineering and architectural staff as well as clients. This position is an excellent fit for someone with strong project management and technical skills, who can lead design processes to align with our firm's vision and standards. Work Environment: While this is an on-site role, we offer some flexibility for remote work based on the needs of our projects and the experience level of the candidate. Requirements Bachelor's Degree (preferred) Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) Experience/proficiency in design skills in Autodesk products and other computer-aided design software 10+ years of experience in designing electrical systems & lighting for buildings and building sites (preferred) A strong technical background in a variety of different building materials Able to ideate quickly through verbal communication, hand sketches and 3D models Primary Responsibilities : Interact and communicate effectively with clients, design team members, project consultants and contractors Work closely with design and technical teams, including Project Manager, Project Engineers, and Project Architects, while supporting or leading the development of design deliverables Assist in the development of overall project goals, design criteria, project budgets, and schedule requirements Design lighting, electrical systems and electrical services for buildings Understand and apply the requirements of building codes and industry standards Perform equipment selections, author equipment and product specifications Provide consulting services, including field investigations, short circuit coordination studies, arc-flash hazard analysis, gap analysis, prepare technical and feasibility reports Establish design standards, specifications and criteria for projects Assume responsible charge for the overall economic well-being of the assigned projects Provide a high level of technical leadership Perform other duties as assigned by direct supervisor and/or any other member of the administratio Why MKA: Become part of a dynamic, fast-growing firm with a proud legacy and strong reputation.
