Job Summary This position applies knowledge of cost concepts, practices, and procedures to conduct analysis of TriWest's healthcare cost and revenue. Responsible for compiling and analyzing large quantities of historical healthcare claims data and using this analysis to estimate total cost and revenue. Prepare analytical reports for management including charts and graphs. Prepare monthly journal entries for healthcare related cost and revenue. Perform monthly general ledger account reconciliations for healthcare related balance sheet accounts. Education & Experience Required: • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field or equivalent work experience • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel • 2-4 years' experience in analyzing and forecasting data • 3 years' experience in an accounting related field Preferred: • Healthcare industry experience • Experience with Incurred But Not Reported (IBNR) calculations • Expertise with financial analysis and reporting • Knowledge of GAAP and Cost Accounting Standards Key Responsibilities • Compile and analyze healthcare claims data for cost and revenue. • Develop, prepare, and analyze healthcare cost reports for use by TriWest management. • Work closely with Data Management department to determine data needs, availability, and interpretation when needed. • Examine and review unusual healthcare cost records and ensure cost data is allocated correctly. • Analyze and report on historical and future trends in healthcare cost performance. • Monitor and report on healthcare claims funding, reimbursement, and receivable patterns. • Provide analytical and technical expertise for Finance activities related to healthcare costs. • Prepare monthly general journal entries for healthcare related costs and revenue. • Prepare monthly general ledger account reconciliations for the healthcare related balance sheet accounts. • Maintain documentation and ensure all procedures support department and company policies and procedures. This includes developing new and updating current written desk procedures. • Perform other duties or special projects as assigned.
