We are seeking an attorney with experience in handling New York Probate and Surrogate's Court cases. This candidate should have full knowledge and experience in preparing, managing, and filing deceased cases through the New York State Probate Court system. Under the direct supervision of an attorney, this candidate will be responsible for: Preparation and drafting of Surrogate's Court petitions and related documents for Probate or Administration of an Estate; Prepare asset lists, analyze bank and business records, identify trust and non-trust assets, and identify title and character of assets; Maintain client files and prepare materials for client meetings; Effectively communicate with clients and court offices; Submit court filings as required, mailed or e-filing; Continued follow up on filed cases; Other tasks as assigned. Qualifications: ( a must ) Law school graduate with current admission to the New York State Bar. Must have at least 1 - 3 years of experience with the New York Probate Court proceedings and probate administration process; Must have strong written and verbal communication skills; Must be detail-oriented and organized with good analytical and problem-solving ability; Must have expertise in drafting and filing New York state probate/administration matters; Must have experience with e-filing online through NYSCEF; Must be proficient with Microsoft Office, email, and legal platforms; Must have excellent client services including patience and empathy; Must have the ability to function independently with direction and as a team player within the department.
