General Accountability: Manulife Investment Management ("Manulife IM") is the global wealth and asset management segment of Manulife Financial Corporation ("MFC" or "Manulife"). Manulife Private Markets is a US$70 billion and growing business unit within Manulife IM that develops and sells private asset investment capabilities to institutional and retail clients globally. The Manulife IM Global Infrastructure Equity Team manages investments and investors across an infrastructure platform that continues to grow and evolve. Today, the Global Infrastructure Team manages nearly US$17 billion of capital for investors which include insurance companies (including the Manulife General Account), endowments, pension plans, and family offices. In a role that is critical to the success of Infrastructure's investor relations and fundraising efforts globally, we are seeking a highly motivated individual who can work well in a team environment and can support our overall investor relations efforts and contribute to existing and new fundraising processes. The role will plan and help manage investor calls, meetings, project management, database management, technical editing/writing, and data analysis. The ideal candidate will have experience in the infrastructure and/ or private equity industry in an investor relations support capacity, is proactive and effective in working in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment, and can build partnerships cross-functionally. The candidate will report to the Head of Infrastructure Investor Relations and will work directly with various teams including the infrastructure equity investment teams, global business development teams, content management, project management, legal, and compliance. The successful candidate will demonstrate a combination of outstanding communication and relationship-building skills, as well as robust processes for monitoring, tracking, and executing all aspects of investor relations and fundraising activity. These qualities will enable this role to drive tremendous impact as we seek to build and maintain trusted partnerships with some of the world's most sophisticated institutional investors. Key Responsibilities The successful candidate's primary responsibilities will include: Building relationships with existing clients and their consultants to effectively serve as a "go to" resource for their client service needs. Supporting all aspects of Infrastructure Investment team's client service efforts, including timely responses to questions and information requests through direct client interaction. Assisting in the syndication of co-investment opportunities to investors. Building and maintaining relationships with prospective investors for future fundraises. Participating in fundraising launch processes including market assessment calls, distribution strategy, content development, organizing target lists of potential new clients, and sales process management. Managing and coordinating investor reporting, annual portfolio reviews, and communication processes working in partnership with global distribution, and each of the investment, finance/operations and legal/compliance teams. Supporting the planning and execution efforts for fund events, including participating in the planning and preparation for investor annual meeting, limited partner lunches, dinners, receptions, and other such events. Contributing to and coordinating the RFP/RFI process for Infrastructure strategies with the investment teams, and Private Markets Distribution Services. Participating in the content review process as a technical editor. Suggest edits for improved readability and ask for clarification where descriptions are unclear. Expanding the knowledgebase by developing new content as needed. Assisting in developing and updating Infrastructure marketing materials and strategy specific materials. Overseeing the organization of and updates to the fundraising virtual data rooms. Assisting with strategic capital raising and capital management initiatives as well as frequent ad hoc requests and special projects, as needed. Supporting all new business initiatives, marketing, and fundraising activities, including assisting in the preparation and updating of offering materials and marketing presentations; product, market, and prospect research; lead generation and tracking; maintaining pipeline reports and meeting logs; updating marketing or internal presentation materials; responding to due diligence, RFP, and other information requests, as well as organizing documents and data rooms and responsibility for compliance coordination and record keeping. Knowledge/Skills/Competencies: Bachelor's degree with a major in business/ finance. 10+ years financial services experience with 5+ years' private equity experience including direct client service and marketing support responsibility. Knowledge of alternative asset classes, in particular infrastructure equity. Understanding of the private equity industry, limited partner client service expectations, and the infrastructure equity fund marketing process Experience working with the private equity consultants and the RFP questionnaire response process. Sensitive and tactful handling of confidential information. Ability to effectively prioritize a large set of responsibilities and manage projects from start to finish. Attention to detail. Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Strong oral and written communication skills necessary to clearly and accurately interact with sophisticated institutional investors as well as internal team members in an effective, professional, and friendly manner. Ability to travel, both within the US and internationally. This position will involve obtaining Series 7 and Series 63 licensing.
