General Responsibilities:Responsible for working with the school staff (teachers, administrators and support staff) to facilitate positive behavior change for students identified as exhibiting maladaptive responding that interferes with skill acquisition and overall school programming. Identify the environmental variables that occasion and maintain the maladaptive responses, potential skill deficits of the student and then work with school staff to develop a Behavior Intervention Plan that fits within the academic setting. May be required to develop curricular programs for certain students to address various skill domains (communication, self-help, academic, etc). Staff training is a requirement in this position as school staff will need to become fluent in the implementation of Behavior Intervention Programs and skill acquisition programs. Some students will require consultation programming in the home; training responsibilities will also be applied and provided to the parents and the school personnel.Education/Training: Master's Degree in related field (psychology, education)Board Certification in Applied Behavior Analysis-BCBAAdvanced coursework in applied behavior analysis and/or working with children with disabilities; Maintain BCBA Supervisor eligibilityAt least two years' experience working as a team leader or consultantExperience conducting FBA's and creating PBSP'sFunctional understanding of advanced ABA principlesExperience teaching functional communication and social skillsExperience implementing and creating behavior analytic curriculum (Verbal Behavior, DTI);Staff training experienceExperience:A minimum of five (5) years' related experience normally required.Skill(s): Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skillsproficient interpersonal relations and communicative skillsproficient skills in functional assessment, person-centered planning, coaching, team building and team developmentbehavior support plan designproficient PC skills, including knowledge of School Wide Positive Behavior Support systems including SW-PBIS data systems (i.e. TIC, SET, and Educator's Handbook)visual and auditory skillsvalid driver's licenseBenefits include: 3 health insurance plans, 2 dental plans, educational assistance, a retirement plan with a match, fully paid life, short and long-term disability, generous PTO, personal holiday, and self-care activities for our e experience what it means to be part of a special education team!
