Description:Acts as senior client contact for a book of property and casualty business focused on the construction industry. In addition to providing exceptional day-to-day client service, also responsible for leading the new and renewal account process and strategy, identifying and recommending coverage and markets, and preparing and presenting proposals to clients and prospects. Negotiate directly with underwriters and carriers in the brokerage and placement of new and renewal business. This individual will also assist in growing the current book of insurance business, through new business and cross selling the surety book. Possess a high attention to detail and strong technical property and casualty insurance knowledge base. Essential Duties & Responsibilities•Strategic point of contact for client coverage questions, contract reviews and deliverables.•Answer client questions on applications and requested renewal information.•Understands the client's business objectives and leads the development of custom solutions to address the client/prospect needs. Effectively presents the solutions to the client/prospect and negotiates compensation.•Builds and maintains effective and sustainable relationships with clients on an enterprise-wide basis. Identifies key decision makers, clients or prospects risks needs and determines the services, products, and combinations that will best serve and address the client/prospect's issues and objectives.•Maintain carrier relationships to develop and support an understanding of the construction insurance marketplace. Negotiate with company underwriters. Prepare and/or check market submissions.•Responsible for the marketing of assigned accounts, obtaining and evaluating quotations, and determining and recommending markets. Prepare and explain policy coverage comparisons.•Presents both renewal proposals to existing clients and proposal responses for prospective clients. Reviews quote status with client/ prospect, determines final negotiating points, and binds coverages.•Assist in development of sales documents and presentations to prospective new clients.•Recommend additional products and services to client.•Assist other team members to balance workloads when needed.•Oversee Account Associate (AA) & Account Manager (AM) work and assist in training of Account Associates and Managers•Responsible for managing their team (AA's & AM's) and coordinating with HR and management to complete midterm and annual reviews•Responsible for reviewing, overseeing, and quality checking the work of AA's and AM's•Responsible for training and advancing the careers of their team•Coordinates with HR to address any team personnel issues that may arise•Undertake various duties as assigned.•Acts as a visible leader in an industry and actively participates in industry associations, organizations, boards and charities, as appropriate.•Responsible for their team to complete billings accurately and timely•Responsible for following with clients on invoice collections (receivables) and working with accounting to keep up to date on client billingsSkills, Knowledge & Abilities•Strong technical property and casualty knowledge.•Ability to present and clearly explain the details of property and casualty programs to clients.•Strong background in account management, servicing, placement and negotiation of property and casualty coverages.•Ability to solve problems and think independently.•Superb interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.•Ability to work well under pressure with attention to detail.•Ability to organize, prioritize, monitor and control work flow deadlines.•Be energetic/have a sense of urgency.•Positive and flexible attitude.Education & Licensing RequirementsBachelor's degree preferred or related work experienceRIBO or Home Province Insurance brokers licenseCIPs or CRM or other professional designation is desirableBilingual (English/French) is preferrable
