Jockey Driver

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6am -2:30pm The Yard Jockey operates a tractor to safely switch empty and full trailers between the shipping dock and yard trailer parking area. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Conduct pre- and post-shift safety inspections on equipment Start, adjust, and stop trailer refrigeration as needed Hook and unhook trailers Perform frequent bending to replace wheel chocks Open and lift trailer doors as required Adjust trailer tandems as needed for secure maneuvering Enter and exit the yard tractor safely multiple times each shift Maneuver trailers safely with strong backing skills Apply security seals, pin locks, and glad hand locks to trailers Communicate movements clearly with shipping and receiving departments Complete regular yard checks and maintain accurate records Keep switching equipment well-maintained and clean Ensure organization and orderliness within the truck yard ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Check trailer inventory and report any irregularities on log forms Perform sanitation duties on trailers as assigned Ensures safe and quality food product handling, storage, and distribution at the facility. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES) High School Diploma or equivalent Basic reading, writing, and math skills Minimum 12 months of recent CDL-A yard switching experience Professional communication skills, both verbal and written Professional appearance and positive representation of the company Compliance with Good Warehouse Practices (GWP) and all food safety protocols Understanding and adherence to Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point System (HACCP) practices Ability to follow and enforce food safety and quality requirements Why Lineage?
