About the Role: We seek a visionary leader for this role to develop and implement a unified enterprise-wide management reporting strategy. This strategy should seamlessly integrate analysis from top executives to daily operations. Prior experience with leading insurance carriers specializing in commercial lines is highly desirable. The Business Analytics Lead has a passion for analyzing complex data, identifying insight answering pressing questions, and articulating the story in the data clearly. The primary responsibility of this role is to partner business leaders to build centralized reporting assets to drive business outcomes in Everest North America Insurance business. This role requires a great degree of collaboration with business functional leadership, executive management, and IT in a fast-paced, growing business environment. This role will be pivotal in Everest Centre of Excellence for Business Analytics. This role is part of the Global Insurance Data & Analytics team, a key function of the Chief Operations Officer. An ideal candidate for this position will be: Passionate about "telling the story" in a robust and easy to digest manner, a problem-solver, and open to learning and adopting new tools and technologies. Experienced in building and delivering robust, thoughtful, governed, repeatable management reporting solutions for complex problems. (Power BI experience helpful) Able to work independently with Business and Technology partners locally and globally. A self-starter and out-of-the-box thinker who can manage projects, timelines, prioritize work independently, and drive towards outcomes. Someone with a service mindset to own the solution end-to-end and work in an Agile framework maturing the product over time starting with MVP (Minimum Viable Product). Role & Responsibilities (include but not limited to): Design and deliver macro analytics reporting solutions to "Measure what matters" for Insurance Executives, Underwriters and Business leaders using Enterprise data and full stack of reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, SQL Server, Python, Databricks, Collibra). Create and promote a Business Analytics COE (Centre of Excellence) for Everest at the Group level by creating best practices, formalizing design standards, standardizing KPI (Key Performance Indicator) definitions and Report certifications in collaboration with Data Governance and IT. Interpret data and analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports as well as identify new trends and patterns from the complex data sets. Verify data accuracy and integrity when sourcing data from a variety of underlying platforms to drive improved insights and reporting. Analyze industry data from 3rd party, peers, and other macroeconomic trends to develop enhanced business insights. Deliver recurring management reports and ad-hoc requests; this includes utilization of available data from various systems by data extraction, cleansing, and building reports and data models. Visualize and develop solutions (dashboards, scorecards, analytic reports) to highlight trends and anomalies in data. Tell the story by contextualizing the reports with automated insights in form of narratives and observations. Collaborate with IT and other members of the unit in finding the best reporting solution that is robust, reliable and quick-to-market. Qualifications + Knowledge, Skills & Competencies : Bachelor's degree with focus on Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, MIS, or other related fields of study. Minimum 5 years of experience, with at least 3 years of relevant experience in Insurance industry and having a good understanding of financials and operational metrics. Proficiency in maximizing the power of dashboarding and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI), and knowledge of Azure cloud and Data Lake (Databricks) is a plus. Experience with relational databases, JSON, XML and related tools and languages (e.g., SQL, Python, R) for data wrangling and automation is highly preferred. Strong data analysis skills, with the ability to synthesize data, identify and highlight trends, assess business impacts, and make recommendations for improvement. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment and make solid recommendations. Strong written and oral communication skills with demonstrated ability to present information in differing degrees of detail and form depending on the audience. Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to build relationships and trust with cross-functional teams. For NYC Only: The base salary range for this position is $160,000 - $175,000 annually.
