Shift: Second Shift (3:00 pm - 11:00 pm), Monday - Friday Salary: Up to $25 per hour, depending on experience Possible temp to permanent positions Custodian Summary: As a Custodian, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the cleanliness and safety of school facilities Duties include cleaning floors, walls, and glass, as well as handling recycling and trash removal Additionally, you'll assist in maintaining building exteriors by clearing snow and debris If you're detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and committed to creating a clean environment for students and staff, we want to hear from you. Custodian Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Clean, wax, and organize assigned areas such as lunchrooms, gymnasiums, restrooms, and classrooms Arrange furniture and equipment as needed. 2. Collect and remove recyclables and trash from designated areas. 3. Maintain exterior building areas by mowing, trimming, and clearing debris Clear snow and ice from entrances, walkways, and parking lots. 4. Monitor building security by checking appliances and equipment for proper operation Identify maintenance and repair needs Secure building at the end of each operating day. 5. Handle chemicals, cleaning solutions, and power equipment safely and according to regulations Dispose of hazardous waste properly. 6. Assist with annual building openings and closings according to established protocols. 7. Support staff as needed with custodial tasks. 8. Perform other custodial, building, and grounds responsibilities as assigned by supervisor/foreman. 9. Oversee special events as required, ensuring facilities meet event needs. Custodian Qualifications: Able to submit and pass a background check and go for fingerprinting $35 out of pocket expense. Previous custodial or maintenance experience preferred. Ability to operate cleaning equipment and power tools safely. Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations related to chemical handling. Physical stamina to perform manual labor and lift heavy objects. Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently. Flexibility to work second shift and occasional weekends for special events.
