Our thriving hotel is looking for a dedicated banquet manager who is passionate about giving our customers an amazing banquet event experience. You will guarantee that each guest receives world-class service by working directly with them to book banquet space and present options that match their needs and budgets. We also require someone with exceptional leadership abilities to supervise the banquet crew and maintain the best quality of hotel services. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter with 3+ years of hospitality experience, preferably in management, and a strong commitment to client satisfaction. Responsibilities: • Provide an optimal level of event service by supervising the banquet area's daily operations, including ordering supplies, supervising event space set-up, and determining staffing levels • Relay all event orders to on-site banquet staff members so they are made aware of their duties and responsibilities • Create departmental rules, processes, quality standards, and cost-cutting strategies to continually enhance the customer-focused banquet area • Document the outcome of each event to assess and make improvements on future events and processes • Communicate with customers to go through banquet event choices that fit their budget and go over any modifications, questions, or concerns to guarantee a great product is delivered • Reviews all Banquet function sheets and set up each function room according to instructions. • Ensures that all required items are provided according to instructions. • Signs out necessary keys from the key lock box at the beginning of shift and returns keys at the end of shift. • Maintains cleanliness of banquet function spaces. • Continually maintains communication with the guest contact person for needed necessary items including but not limited to; extra chairs, tables, etc. • Informs supervisor of guest complaints/compliments. • Breaks down all equipment at the end of the function. • Returns all equipment to the necessary storage location. • Must wear the required uniform. Must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance. • Performs other duties as assigned by management. Qualifications: • High school graduate or GED equivalent with a degree in hospitality management preferred • Excellent communication skills for working with clients and other team members • This role requires a strong emphasis on putting the guest first and providing exceptional customer service • Proficient in computer skills, especially MS Office (Word, Excel, and Powerpoint) • 3+ years managing a team in a hospitality role or equivalent culinary role • Understanding of how banquet layouts and reading plans. • Ability to move heavy equipment. • Team player mentality Compensation: $10.35 hourly • Reviews all Banquet function sheets and set up each function room according to instructions. • Ensures that all required items are provided according to instructions. • Signs out necessary keys from the key lock box at the beginning of shift and returns keys at the end of shift. • Maintains cleanliness of banquet function spaces. • Continually maintains communication with the guest contact person for needed necessary items including but not limited to; extra chairs, tables, etc. • Informs supervisor of guest complaints/compliments. • Breaks down all equipment at the end of the function. • Returns all equipment to the necessary storage location. • Must wear the required uniform.
