With these diverse member touchpoints, our potential for impact has never been greater. Who We Are The WeightWatchers Finance Team serves as a core driver of the company's business success. This team of experienced financial professionals leverages data analytics and best practices to deliver insightful financial reporting and analysis. These contributions empower strategic decision-making across the organization, ensuring the company's financial health and sustainability. What you will do The Director of Tax will lead and manage all aspects of corporate tax activities and operations for a U.S., multinational, public company, ensuring compliance with federal, state, local, and international tax regulations and developing strategies that optimize the company's tax position. This role reports to the Corporate Controller and oversees tax accounting and reporting, compliance, audit responses, transfer pricing, and planning initiatives. The Director of Tax will also manage external advisors and collaborate with senior management to communicate tax implications for strategic decision-making. Tax Accounting & Financial Reporting: Manage the income tax accounting process, including the calculation of tax accruals on monthly, quarterly, and annual bases. Prepare tax disclosures in financial statements in accordance with US GAAP, statutory accounting, and other reporting standards. Ensure accurate and timely preparation of income tax provisions and coordinate with external advisors for tax compliance. Tax Compliance: Coordinate and oversee the preparation of federal, state, local, and international tax returns with external advisors. Manage the remittance of estimated tax payments and installment payments to federal, state, and local jurisdictions. Maintain compliance with tax regulations and requirements by regularly monitoring and implementing new tax developments. Audit & Regulatory Response: Serve as the primary point of contact for all tax-related audit requests, notices, or inquiries from the IRS, regulators, internal auditors, and external auditors. Lead preparation of memoranda and supporting documentation for both routine and complex tax technical issues; present findings to senior management. Lead the execution of all tax-related financial controls and coordinate control reviews conducted by external and internal auditors. Transfer Pricing and International Tax: Implement group transfer pricing policies and coordinate with external advisors on annual filings. Ensure compliance with transfer pricing documentation requirements and international tax obligations. Tax Strategy & Planning: Identify, evaluate, and recommend tax strategies and planning opportunities to optimize the company's effective tax rate and cash tax outflows. Conduct research on new tax developments, assess their implications for the company, and communicate findings to senior management. Provide recommendations on tax-efficient structures and lead implementation of tax planning initiatives in collaboration with external advisors. Financial Forecasting & Budgeting: Develop and maintain multi-year tax rate and cash tax forecasts in alignment with the company's financial objectives. Manage budgets for external advisors, ensuring cost-effective use of resources. Team Leadership & Development: Lead the development and training of in-house tax staff, providing coaching and professional growth opportunities. Train non-tax personnel who contribute to tax reporting and compliance to ensure compliance obligations are met effectively. Who you are Strong knowledge of transfer pricing policies and international tax regulations. Experience managing budgets for external advisors and optimizing tax operations for cost-effectiveness. Strong expertise in income tax accounting, US GAAP, and statutory accounting requirements. Proficiency in tax compliance, transfer pricing, and tax planning. Ability to manage multi-state and international tax matters and lead complex tax projects. Leadership & Communication: Proven leadership skills with experience managing and developing tax teams. Exceptional communication skills, with an ability to present complex tax information to senior management and collaborate cross-functionally. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop tax strategies and assess their financial impact. Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field required. Master's in accounting or taxation preferred. Minimum of 8-10 years of relevant tax experience, including experience in a public company environment and with US GAAP tax accounting. Strong knowledge of ASC 740 a plus. CPA and public accounting experience preferred. Strong oral and written communication skills, expected to communicate with internal and external stakeholders, including other departments, external tax compliance service providers, and auditors. Ability to articulate technical concepts in a clear and concise manner. Ability to accurately research and follow through on complex problem-solving items, as well as initiate resolutions. Prior experience operating within a SOX 404 control environment is a plus. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage, prioritize, and effectively meet deadlines working on multiple assignments simultaneously. A commitment to continuous operational improvement. Highly proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Base salary may vary depending on, but not limited to: skills, experience, and location. This role is also eligible for a comprehensive benefits package and annual bonus program.
