Design Engineer II

Job Title: Design Engineer II - Structural Department: Design Engineering Reports to: Manager, Part 21 Structure Systems & Interiors Design Location(s): Philadelphia, PA, with less than 20% domestic and international travel Summary of Position : The primary responsibility of this position is to provide engineering support to production activity to meet AWPC's safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets. This position requires good knowledge of the rotorcraft structural systems as well as the standard aeronautical structural installation design procedures. Daily duties include, but are not limited to, supporting assembly and fabrication of all AWPC helicopter lines, with problem solving in fit/form/function questions and technical issues coordinating the solution within the LH design dept. The Structural Design Engineer II is also responsible for drafting and review of structural installations for helicopter customizations and completions, in compliance with EASA and FAA regulations, using the applicable design tools (CATIA V4/V5 - VPM/ENOVIA - DBT). Main related tasks are: Absolving day-to-day activities of sustaining engineering team accomplishing the goals and objectives established by the Design Engineering Manager. Support Manufacturing Engineering by coordinating the new structural design changes to be injected into Production environment. Participate in design reviews with the customers ensuring the structural systems installations will meet customer expectations. Attending and interfacing with the design organization for configuration changes. Managing aircraft design modifications by acting as liaison between AWPC Design Engineering Office and LH Structural Systems Department. Troubleshoot new structural installations and validate ATPs supporting LH Structural Systems Department. Essential Duties and Responsibilities : Duties and Responsibilities: % Time 1. Managing aircraft design modifications by acting as liaison between AWPC Design Engineering Office and LH Structural Systems Department 20 4. Design Engineering liaison for manufacturing 20 5. Support to Structure Systems Department for configuration feasibility 10 6. Troubleshoot new installations and validate ATPs 5 7. Perform other duties and fulfill other responsibilities as assigned 5 TOTAL: 100% Qualifications for Position : A. Education Bachelor Degree - Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering B. Experience Minimum 3 years of experience in engineering environment, preferably aerospace. Combination of education and/or experience which would permit performance of essential duties and responsibilities. C. Competencies & Attributes 1. Problem solving 2.
