USM is proud to make a difference for its clients, consumers and local communities as it continues to drive forward into the next forty years and beyond.Position Overview The Dispatcher is responsible for maintaining customer service and scale operations of the Transportation Department. This individual will report to the Transportation Manager. The Dispatcher also supervises and leads the Drivers.Summary of ResponsibilitiesExecutes customer service requests and routes other calls accordinglyEffectively handles all customer requests and complaints and reports them to the Transportation ManagerFollows up on outstanding issues with the customers, the Sales Team and the Transportation ManagerWeighs all material entering and leaving the facilityManages scale operationsAnswers all inbound callsProcesses all daily dispatch paperworkPerforms all scale operations - inbound and outboundCreates receivers and shippers in the data base and generates paperworkCloses out daily dispatch paperworkMaintains and files all driver logs and reportsTests and maintains the radiation detection system and log bookFacilitates internal communication with his Manager and peersMust demonstrate competency in all aspects of the job and company objectivesDemonstrates understanding of company policies, rules and trainingsOther duties as assigned Desired CharacteristicsHighs School or GED required; some collage or a college degree a plus2 years of direct customer serviceOrganized and able to work in a fast-paced environmentExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong math and calculation skills a mustDemonstrated professionalismAbility to work with others and work as part of a teamProficient with computer and data entry skillsStrong attention to detail and accuracy a mustExcellent English communication (read, write, speak); bilingual spoken Spanish a plusThe Company desires a candidate who has shown a stable job history, dependable attendance practices and whose references can state is a trustworthy individualCandidate must pass a pre-employment physical, background and credit checkAble to fulfill flexible scheduling requirements as determined by the manager and or business needs of the operationWe strive to demonstrate our Core Values in all positions at USM:Trust â— Commitment â— Loyalty â— Passion â— Respect â— Service â— PerformanceUSM is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.
