Job Summary Job Description: Medline is looking for a Platform Manager for our Supply Chain Technology Group. The Platform and Application Manager is responsible for overseeing our Supply Chain Technology's portfolio of business applications and managing a multi-year cloud migration project for supply chain systems. This role includes leadership over technical upgrades, application development, implementation, and day-to-day management. The manager will also ensure application availability, performance, and stakeholder satisfaction while fostering innovation and aligning IT strategies with business objectives. Job Description This role is Hybrid onsite Tuesday-Thursday weekly starting at the Mundelein, IL location and will move to the Northbrook, IL location in 2025. Key Responsibilities: Cloud Migration & Platform Leadership: Lead the migration of logistics and supply chain applications to the Azure cloud, ensuring timely and high-quality execution using appropriate tools and technologies. Team Leadership: Provide leadership and direction to a team of professionals managing applications. Set clear goals, coach, mentor, and develop team members to enable professional growth and build a high-performing team. Application Development & Maintenance: Oversee the planning, deployment, development, configuration, testing, and ongoing maintenance of business applications to ensure optimal functionality and performance. Governance & Best Practices: Establish and enforce application governance practices, including change management, release management, and documentation standards. Ensure compliance with DevSecOps methodologies and promote Agile development practices. Vendor & Stakeholder Management: Manage relationships with application vendors, including contract negotiations, service level agreements, and performance evaluations. Act as a liaison between IT and other business units to ensure alignment of IT strategies with business goals. Application Performance & Availability: Monitor the performance, availability, scalability, and security of business applications, taking proactive steps to optimize performance and minimize downtime. Business Innovation & Efficiency: Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand application needs and identify opportunities to enhance existing applications or introduce new technologies that drive efficiency and innovation. Strategic Roadmap & IT Alignment: Collaborate with the IT leadership team to define and execute the IT roadmap, aligning technology strategies with business objectives to ensure future readiness and scalability. Platform Management: Oversee platform-level upgrade projects, ensuring optimal performance and minimal disruption across business systems. Continuously seek to improve processes and systems through innovative ideas and continuous improvement practices. Required Skills and Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Experience in the IT industry, including significant experience in application development, maintenance, transformation, and platform management. Minimum of 4 years in a leadership role, managing technical or functional teams. Experience providing technical direction for development and upgrade projects, with expertise in Java and Oracle technologies. Cloud & Application Management: Demonstrated expertise in cloud migration (preferably Azure) and application management. Familiarity with automating deployments and configurations of both applications and infrastructure. Vendor & Stakeholder Management: Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with experience in vendor management and stakeholder collaboration. Proven ability to act as a bridge between IT and business units. Technical Skills: Proficiency with modern development methodologies, release management strategies, and tools such as GitLab, Jenkins, and Git. Governance & Compliance: Experience establishing governance frameworks for application management, ensuring adherence to industry best practices and security standards. Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, networking, databases, security, and application performance optimization. Agility & Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects. Proven track record of adapting to evolving priorities and delivering solutions on time and within scope. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong ability to influence senior management and stakeholders.
