Overview As a CT Scanner Technologist, you will be responsible for performing all Computed Tomography (CT) exams. This includes operating equipment and following procedure/protocols to produce high-quality diagnostic images. The role also involves providing quality care for patients and adhering to hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Schedule: PRN Qualifications Education: Graduate of an Accredited School for Radiologic Technologist (required) Licensure/Certification/Registry: ARRT (required), IEMA (required), CT Certification (preferred), BLS CPR certification (required) Responsibilities Coordinate patient flow and schedule of the CT modality via a team approach. Check patients' charts or scripts to ensure the exam ordered by the physician matches the requisition received by the department. Use professional judgment to ensure the exam clinically evaluates the given diagnosis and refer discrepancies to the radiologist or ordering physician. Prepare the room, equipment, medication, and supplies needed for exams while maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients. Adhere to safety standards set forth by the organization in accordance with ACR guidelines (ALARA). Explain the procedure and equipment function to patients, review medical history and perform requested CT exams in accordance with accepted standards and protocols. Transfer, maintain basic quality assurance issues, and recall images from PACS system. Participate in ongoing QA/QC and process improvement programs, and maintain continuing education credits in compliance with licensing agency.
