Senior Distribution Engineer, Electrical Utility

Description Leidos is seeking an experienced Senior Distribution Engineering leader for electric utility design. Typical Day: Working with client remotely Engineering and development of design packages for customers Admin/planning/customer follow-up As a Senior Distribution Engineer, You can expect to: Independently develop design and construction work packages for electrical overhead and underground distribution systems for Leidos electric utility customers Interact directly with utility clients on a frequent basis Review work provided by clients and assess requirements of scopes Perform engineering calculations such as structural analysis, guying calculations, specifying conductor sags and tensions, voltage drop, and flicker Provide engineering support during construction and conduct root cause analysis of outages Coordinate conflicting utilities and develop large design packages for complex cable/conduit projects Assist in the hiring process for the future of the team What Sets You Apart (Background Requirements): 5+ years of relevant work experience performing electric distribution design engineering Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline (Additional relevant experience can be considered in lieu of engineering-specific degree) 1 year+ of demonstrated experience in a leadership role Proficiency with the NESC Willingness to perform both field and office work, as well as possess a valid U.S. driver's license Preferred Qualifications: Previous QAQC experience Demonstrated history of Customer Interaction Professional Attributes that will help you succeed in this role: Strong communication skills Positive attitude Ability to work with limited supervision Attention to detail & Highly organized At Leidos, the opportunities are boundless.
