About the Company: Aucta Pharmaceuticals is an emerging product development pharmaceutical company. Aucta is implementing a branded/generic hybrid model, generating both near-term product revenue and mid/long-term investment return. We aim to become a significant specialty pharmaceutical company in the U.S. marketplace integrating R&D, manufacturing, and commercialization. We focus on improved dosage forms for patients with a therapeutic focus in CNS, Ophthalmology, and Inhalation areas. Aucta successfully launched its first branded product, Motpoly XR, in the epilepsy space with a targeted sales force in mid-February 2024. We have recently expanded our commercial presence in the neurology/epilepsy sector by increasing our field sales territories to 20. Our objective is to enhance our marketing, managed care, and sales capabilities to support future pipeline products in neurology over the coming years. Position Overview: The Commercial Sales Data Analyst is a critical member of the commercial team, focusing on analyzing sales data and providing insights that drive business strategy. This role is centered on sales data analysis, forecasting, and understanding the dynamics of managed care rebate programs, payer landscapes, and how these factors influence market access and pricing strategies. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in sales forecasting, linking sales and marketing activities such as sales calls, samples, digital interactions, and promotional responses to prescribing behavior. You will collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Managed Markets teams to deliver actionable insights, helping shape strategic decisions. While some technical proficiency in tools like Excel, Veeva, Power BI, and IQVIA is necessary, this is not a purely technical role; the focus is on leveraging commercial sales and marketing data to guide new marketing initiatives, maximize sales performance, and optimize market access in the pharmaceutical space. The key experience required for this role centers on analyzing commercial sales data within a pharmaceutical or biotech organization. This position will be part of the Commercial Organization, not IT, and will be critical in driving data-driven sales strategies and insights. Key Responsibilities: Sales Data Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of national prescription data, linking sales activities and marketing efforts to prescribing trends, and providing key insights into physician prescribing habits. Managed Care Rebate Programs: Analyze managed care rebate agreements to evaluate their impact on market access, pricing, and sales performance. Sales Forecasting & Performance Monitoring: Support the leadership team in forecasting sales revenues and monitoring performance against targets, using data-driven insights to guide commercial strategy. Payer Landscape Analysis: Understand and analyze the payer landscape to assess its impact on pricing, market access, and sales strategies within the pharmaceutical space. Incentive Compensation Evaluation: Track and analyze sales team performance and activity to ensure alignment with incentive compensation structures. Collaboration with Commercial Teams: Partner closely with Sales, Marketing, and Managed Markets teams to understand their data needs and provide insights that help shape sales and marketing strategies. Compliance & Accuracy: Conduct detailed analysis of managed care contracts and rebate agreements to ensure compliance and accuracy. Process Improvement & Automation: Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency of data management and reporting processes, making insights more accessible to non-technical teams. Industry Trends & Regulatory Updates: Stay informed about industry trends, including regulatory changes affecting managed care rebate programs and market access strategies. Required Qualifications: Bachelors Degree: A degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. Proven Experience: A minimum of 4-6 years of experience in sales data analysis, sales forecasting, and rebate analysis, within the pharmaceutical industry is required. Commercial Focus: Strong background in pharmaceutical commercial sales data analysis, with 8+ years of experience in sales, marketing, and/or sales forecasting, sales performance analysis, and rebate programs. Payer & Market Access Knowledge: Experience with payer landscape analysis and understanding how managed care and rebate programs affect sales and pricing strategies. Managed Care Rebate Experience: Experience with managed care rebate programs, and how they influence pharmaceutical sales and market access. and understanding of healthcare reimbursement methodologies is highly desirable. Incentive Compensation Knowledge: Experience with sales incentive compensation structures and performance tracking. Analytical Skills: Strong ability to interpret complex sales data and provide meaningful insights that support commercial decision-making. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including advanced functions). Veeva/CRM: Experience and proficiency in guiding the design and implementation of custom CRM applications and extracting data for activity and sales analysis. Collaboration & Communication: Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex data insights in a clear and actionable manner to non-technical stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, and leadership teams. Problem-Solving Mindset: A proactive, solutions-oriented approach to identifying areas for process improvement and driving efficiency in reporting and analysis. Travel: Must be able to travel and participate in plan of action meetings as needed. At times required travel may be up to 10%-20%. Work Location: This position is based at our Piscataway, NJ site and will transition to our new Basking Ridge, NJ location in mid-2025. It is an office-based role, requiring presence 5 days a week. The selected candidate must be able to commute to both Piscataway and Basking Ridge, NJ. Salary Range: Aucta Pharmaceuticals considers a combination of the candidates education, training, experience, location, external market, and internal value when determining a salary level for potential new employees where you can use your experiences, perspectives, and skills to help make an impact on the lives of others.
