Our New Jersey office is growing and actively seeking a Litigation Paralegal with a minimum of 3 to 5 years paralegal ligation experience interested in growing their career among our team of staff and attorneys, who value and foster open and honest communication, and act with integrity and professionalism. OPPORTUNITY | Paralegal Litchfield Cavo has 23 offices nationwide, and is quickly expanding. Our New Jersey office seeks a well-rounded, highly-motivated, experienced Litigation Paralegal to support our practicing litigation defense attorneys. Experience in insurance defense is a plus. This is an exceptional opportunity to handle a variety of law office responsibilities including all aspects of the discovery process with a forward-thinking firm, in an expanding office. SKILLS and ABILITIES The following are representative of the knowledge, skill or ability to the candidate must possess or demonstrate to succeed under the direction of the partner(s): proven knowledge of electronic filing requirements at state and federal courts in New Jersey; excellent research and writing skills; work proactively, independently and as part of a team; ability to forecast and calendar court filings and docket deadlines; organize, prioritize and implement urgent tasks with strong attention to detail; provide excellent written and verbal communication; remain self-directed, self-motivated and effectively work under tight time constraints; ability to consistently create and deliver quality work products; demonstrate proficiency with MS Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and PDF maker (Nuance or Adobe Pro); demonstrated efficiency navigating the internet; iManage experience a plus. possess Paralegal Certificate RESPONSIBILITIES Prepare court-ready state and federal pleadings, motions and responses to motions for e-filing with state and federal courts in New Jersey ; Maintain and organize high volume of discovery Manage multiple projects with competing deadlines in a busy legal environment; Draft and respond to discovery request, including interrogatories, request for production, request for disclosure, request for admission, deposition notices, etc.; Organize large volumes of case-related documents; ability to locate and reference specific documents quickly (e.g. trial exhibits, deposition transcripts, key discovery responses, case correspondence and communications); Support assigned attorney defense litigation practice( i.e. phone conferences, meetings, case deadlines, hearing and trial dates, mediations and depositions, as well as scheduling orders and moving docket forward); Document, organize and assist with preparation for trials and arbitrations hearings; Save, file and organize pleadings, motions and related e-filed or emailed documented dates on a daily basis; Maintain daily calendar with ability to forecast and prioritize relevant deadlines; Enter billing time daily, in a timely fashion; Maintain professional demeanor and a positive attitude with colleagues, clients, co-counsel and court personnel.
