Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented Buyer Planner to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will manage business within established supplier relationships, ensuring timely scheduling of purchase orders to support production while maintaining minimal inventory. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cost reduction initiatives and supplier management. Key Responsibilities: Manage established supplier relationships and conduct business effectively. Schedule purchase orders to align with production schedules and requisition requirements, maintaining minimal inventory. Identify and communicate any supplier concerns or opportunities internally. Support cost recovery initiatives and facilitate problem resolution discussions with suppliers. Ensure timely and adequate supplier corrective action plans are implemented. Coordinate cost reduction projects and supplier consolidation efforts. Monitor cost, schedule, technical specifications, and drawing release status of projects, leading corrective actions as necessary. Enter cost changes, assign selected suppliers, and support sourcing projects. Prepare and solicit requests for quotes and proposals based on defined commodity strategies. Drive delivery issues and part shortages with suppliers as needed. Maintain and measure the effectiveness of cost reduction projects and resolve pricing and invoice discrepancies. Collaborate with engineering and suppliers on new component releases and design changes. Monitor supplier performance to ensure adherence to quality and delivery standards. Qualifications: 1+ years of supply chain experience in a manufacturing setting. Strong in both buying and planning. Experience with sourcing, negotiations, and managing supplier relationships. Familiarity with ERP systems (any experience is valuable). Knowledge of customs and trade regulations, particularly with overseas suppliers. Experience managing high volumes of SKUs (500+) and line items (up to 1400). Understanding of multilevel BOMs is a plus. NPI experience is beneficial. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Work Environment: 100% onsite at a manufacturing facility. Early start; typical hours are 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM (flexible start time as early as 6:00 AM). Daily team meetings at 7:00 AM.
