Join a mission-driven team where your work will make a meaningful impact. OVERVIEW OF THE ACCOUNTING MANAGER ROLE: Oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, AP, AR, and payroll. Manage month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure accurate financial reporting and meet deadlines. The Accounting Manager supports financial planning by preparing the organization's financial statements, budgets, and forecasts. Monitor cash flow and manage banking relationships to maintain the organization's financial stability. Collaborate with the Director of Finance to develop strategies aligning financial operations with the organization's mission. The Accounting Manager will ensure compliance with non-profit accounting standards, focusing on grant management, fund accounting, and donor reporting. Lead the annual audit process, ensuring documentation accuracy and accessibility. Establish and maintain financial controls, policies, and procedures to protect organizational assets. Provide financial analysis and reporting to aid executive and program-level decision-making. Partner with fundraising and development teams to track donations, grants, and restricted funds for precise donor reporting. The Accounting Manager will supervise, mentor, and develop junior accounting staff to ensure the department's effectiveness. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR ACCOUNTING MANAGER ROLE: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred). Strong knowledge of non-profit accounting principles, including fund accounting, grant management, and reporting standards. Proven experience in managing and mentoring accounting teams.
