This position will directly support the profitable growth of the North America Builder's Risk Direct Insurance team as a Senior Construction Underwriter, based in New York, Chicago, or Houston, producing Builder's Risk, Contractors All Risks (CAR), and Erection All Risks (EAR) insurance contracts on a single project or annual basis form within Civil Infrastructure, Oil & Gas, Power, Renewables, Heavy Industries, and Buildings segments is both US and Canadian territories. Required experience & competencies: You are a senior underwriter with at least 5 to 10 years of experience in your insurance market with exposure to all types of international construction risks. Previous experience of working in the construction industry is also desirable. Key characteristics sought include: Active engagement and contribution to the global construction team is essential. An enquiring mindset with the ability to work independently as a motivated and pro-active self-starter. A clear understanding of the value and role of leadership together with an active approach to risk management. Self-disciplined, principled and decisive decision making. Organized and able to prioritize under pressure. Ability to evaluate, condense and summarize key information. Confidence to develop and maintain a network of brokers and clients. Excellent communication and presentation skills and confident to represent SCOR at conferences, meetings or professional associations. Able to travel occasionally to New York and other hubs. Required Education: Engineering degree and/or recognized business, mathematics or insurance degrees. Actual salaries may vary based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, role and performance. The range listed is just one component of SCOR's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $175,000 - $210,000 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives.
