Stamford Hospital is seeking an experienced individual to join the Emergency Department as an ED Tech. There is flexibility to work Part timeFull time, 312 hours weekdays, rotating weekends and holidays. Hours: Mid shift- 10 am to 11pm. or 7pm to 8am night shift. Part time and Full-time opportunities. The Emergency Room Tech assists in the provision of patient care in accordance with State and Federal guidelines under the director of a licensed nursing personnel, P.A. andor physician personnel. * Performs EKGs * Performs phlebotomy * Performs vital signs and pain scale * Places splints * Removes and applies simple dressings * Assists in applications of restraints as directed by physicians and registered nurses * Transports patients to CT, OR, floors * Documents appropriately in electronic medical record * Provides patient education as directed by RN * Participates as a member of PAMI team, Trauma team including specific responsibilities in the ED * Participates as a member of the Medic Alert team throughout the hospital * Stocks patient rooms, pyxis machines and supply carts as necessary * Assists in procedures under the direction of MDs and RNs * Completes temperature logs as requested * Participates in education and training of new staff and students * Participates in a supports performance improvement and risk management activities * Assumes role of Patient Care Attendant (as necessary) and completes required PCA log * Performs all duties with a focus on patient and customer satisfaction and in keeping with the Planetree philosophy Stamford Health understands what it takes to attract talent in order to improve our workforce and support our mission, to that end we offer: * Competitive salary * Sign on bonuses for designated positions * Comprehensive, low-cost health insurance plans available day one * Wellness programs * Paid Time Off accruals * Tax deferred annuity and (403b) pension plan * Tuition reimbursement * Free on-site parking and train station shuttle * Childcare partnership with Children's Learning Center #ED Techs * We are committed to building an inclusive workplace that values diversity and inclusion and reflects the diversity of the community and patients we serve. 1) Minimum of high school diploma, GED or equivalent required. 2) EMT- B certification OR EMT- B certification in progress OR one + years as ED technician in similar setting andor third or fourth year nursing student required with EMT-B certification. 3) Experience in hospital or medical setting preferred. 4) BLS required.
