Apparel Designer | New York City (onsite)Duration: 1-month contract Pay Rate: $47hour + Benefits Swoon is actively seeking a Apparel Designer to join the team of our client!You'll be an integral part of the team - creating commercially viable product designs for specific categoriescollections. Presents and delivers brand-right designs that tie back to the overall concept and business strategy; encompassing style, colorprint, fit and fabric for newexisting product lines. What will your day-to-day look like?Create brand-right, commercial designs that reflect the conceptual directionbusiness strategyDeliver product designs with flawless execution; achieving goals with speed, agility and acute attention to detailDevelop seasonal product with a focus on style, fit and fabricAdapt designs based on feedback, incorporating for finalizationRecommend resources in sourcing new ideas, both internally and externally, and conduct ongoing competitor researchtrend analysisCollaborate and communicate with key partners throughout the design process including Merchandising, Marketing, and Product DevelopmentPresent designs to internal leaderteam as well as key cross-functional partnersExecute design sketchesprototypes and provide specificationsCreate detailed tech packs, focusing on construction, drapes and finishing techniques to ensure first prototypes come in accurate and in line with brand's expectations. Update BOMs in Centric and ensure accuracy.Update linesheets throughout the season, both with sketches and color and ensure all information is accurate by collaborating with cross functional teams (including Color & Print, PD, Graphics teams).Manage, develop, and inspire junior design talentBuild and maintain collaborative and effective relationshipsEnsure deliverables meet budget and time commitments without compromising design excellence Why do we love this company?Brand Evolution: It expanded from lingerie to a broader range of products, including beauty, fragrances, and sleepwear, while launching sub-brands catering to younger customers.The Fashion Show: The brand's fashion show, which began in 1995, became a cultural phenomenon. What's required?Bachelor's degree in Design or equivalent experience5+ years of design experience in a comparable retail environmentStrong talent with a commercial fashion eye and detail in product stylingperformanceDemonstrated ability to create original design sketches and successful product linesStrong understanding and design including fit, construction and fabricsProficient in Microsoft Office, Illustrator, InDesign and Adobe Creative SuiteExperience in Centric a plusCustomer service philosophyCollaborative partner with a team-oriented approachHighly motivated, passionate and results orientedSolid communication and presentation skillsExperience and passion to motivate and develop talentFlexible and creative problem solverMust be able to work in a hybrid schedule in our New York City office
