The Network Engineer is Responsible for global support, development, and management of network infrastructure (WAN, LAN, WLAN, Security, IoT, DataCenter), including hardware, service coordination, and optimization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and intermittently improving our current network configuration and infrastructure. ResponsibilitiesWorldwide support and further development of the central and decentralized network infrastructure for WAN (SD-WAN), LAN (L2 + L3), WLAN, Security-Network, IoT-Network and the DataCenter networkPlanning and operation for our on-premise network with switches, routers, firewalls and access points worldwideManaging the hardware with monitoring and administration toolsService handling with our IT service providersParticipation in IT projects in close cooperation with other teamsSecond-level support and central point of contact for all network infrastructure issuesOngoing optimization and expansion of our global networkOther tasks as required by ManagerQualificationsBachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related area2 - 4 years' of experience with network administration in a Linux or Windows environmentKnowledge of IP networking fundamentalsIdeally practical experience in the planning and daily operation of network infrastructuresKnowledge of routing, switching and wireless technologiesKnowledge of automation languages such as Ansible or Terraform desirableCertificates such as CCNA, CCNP, CCIE are an advantageService orientation and a high level of commitmentPhysical Demands Work EnvironmentNo heavy lifting is expected; although exertion of up to 20 pounds of force may be required on occasion.Manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment, such as computers, copiers, fax machines, etc.Sitting for extended periods of time is common.Hearing and vision within average range to receive ordinary information and to prepare or inspect documents.This position is performed in a traditional office setting.These physical demands are representative of the physical requirements necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.Reasonable accommodation can be made to enable people with disabilities to perform the described essential functions of this job.DisclaimerThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
