Includes activities linked to technical improvement of existing products and components focused on execution of professional activities within a technical discipline. The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.). Job location is at Cincinnati, OHResponsibilitiesCAD modelingCFD modeling (mesh generation, simulation, analysis)Design optimizationStructural analysis FEADesign of lab experiments and test fixturesMeasurement of flow properties in lab experimentsDevelop and apply advanced optimization design models including parametric optimization and topology optimization for thermal components such as heat sinks, cold plates, heat exchangers, and integrated flow channels.Create and utilize physical test systems in the areas of additively manufactured fluidthermal coupons, two-phase flow loops, and thermal interface characterization.Develop and apply high-fidelity and reduced order modeling of single- and two-phase flows.Develop cooling strategies for electronics with high andor transient heat fluxes, such as heterogeneous integration, microchannel cooling, passive heat spreaders, jet impingement, and phase change materials.Predict device reliability with thermomechanical modeling. Qualifications we seek in you!Minimum Qualifications SkillsBachelor of Science in Engineering degree from an accredited 4-year university or college (or high school diplomaGED with 6 years' experience in design engineering).Deep understanding in the areas of heat transfer and thermal engineering.Product Support experience for aircraft engines and Fleet management experience.Analytic modeling and programming skills in common languages.Understanding of FEA and CFD modeling.Experience working in a research laboratory environment.Demonstrated experience in publishing and presenting research.U.S. Government Security Clearance is preferred.Must be able to obtain U.S. Government Clearance.Preferred Qualifications SkillsAnalytical thinking skills.Preferably experience in areas such as Aviation, gas turbine or internal combustion engine design and analysis.Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in writing and verbally.Proven self-starter and independent worker who can work with andor lead cross-functional teams.Strong interpersonal skills, which enable a learning approach to problem resolution.Ability to perform multi-task assignments effectively.Demonstrated ability to reprioritize workload under short deadlines in a fast-paced dynamic environment.Humble: respectful, receptive.Transparent: shares critical information, speaks with candor, contributes constructively.Focused: quick learner, strategically prioritizes work, committed.Leadership ability: strong communicator, decision-maker, collaborative.Problem solver: analytical-minded, challenges existing processes, critical thinker."The approximate annual base compensation range for this position is $68,000 to $75,000.
