Pharmacy Technician

ESC's premier healthcare client is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join their organization working onsite in Chicago, IL. The role works eight 10-hour shifts (830pm-630am) Wednesday thru Thursday, with 8 days on then 6 days off. and starts as a contract opportunity affording long-term potential for a top performer. This role performs a variety of clerical, distributive, technical, and data gathering duties in order to provide medications to patients and support the pharmacists.Major Responsibilities:Develops competence in dispensing and delivery of medications. This includes developing competence in the department's use of information systems, technology, and automation used for dispensing and storage of medications.Develops competence in preparing non-sterile products following USP, state, and federal recommendations, as required.Develops competence in entering medication orders in the computer system andor processing medication requests via the computer system.Develops competence in managing phone calls from customers and team members such as nurses, physicians or patients. This includes accurately understanding and interpreting the issue, timely resolution, or timely hand-off to another team member as appropriate.Develops competence in pharmacy procedures and documentation as required, satisfying legal, regulatory, and department requirements of pharmacy plies with legal, regulatory, accreditation standards. This includes (but is not limited to) controlled substance procedures, USP procedures and DNV requirements.Qualifications:Requires a minimum of 1 year of experience in a pharmacy technician position.1+ years of experience with IV Compounding within a hospitalActive IL Pharmacy Tech licenseMust have sterile compounding experience.High School Diploma.EPIC charting experience preferred.Ability to stand for long periods of time.Ability to walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, crawl, kneel, climb, and reach above shoulders throughout the workday.Ability to lift up to 35 pounds from floor to chest level, lift and carry up to 35 pounds at waist height a reasonable distance, pushpull with 30 pounds of force.
