Busy General Practice Firm in Essex County Newark is actively seeking an experienced Civil Litigation & Criminal Defense Attorney to join our growing law practice.Skills and Qualifications:Admission to New Jersey Bar in good standing with 5-10 years of experience in civil litigation and criminal defense in the US. New York bar admission is a plus.Ability to handle a high caseloadDetail oriented, organized, and quickBilingual (English and Spanish or Portuguese) is a plus, but not a requirementExperience with LandlordTenant, Personal Injury, Workmen's Compensation, Bankruptcy, Family Law (divorce, child support, custody, TRO, etc.) and other areas of lawExperience with handling application and briefs submissions to EOIRUSCISNVC offices as well as attending Immigration master and individual hearings, asylum interview appointments, and family petitionadjustment of status interviews, etc. (preferred).Experience with immigration law is a plusExcellent interpersonal skillsExcellent public speaking skillsAbility to work cases either independently or as part of a team, to develop case strategiesMUST have a driver's license and be computer literate.Attorneys Duties and Responsibilities:Provide Representation at Civil Criminal Hearings and MediationsConduct interviews, depositions, and trialsDrafting and submitting motions, complaints, answers, forms and briefs in addition to other courtclient correspondenceConducting complex legal research and case specific analysisClient intake
