A seasoned Property Specialist with ten years of relevant experience to support the NASA Communication Services (NCS) Contract at Glenn Research Center in Cleveland, Ohio. The candidate will use extensive experience and judgement to plan, account for, control, and manage Installation Accountable, and Contractor acquired government property in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulations, FAR 52.245-1 and the NASA FAR Supplement 1852.245-71. NSC property includes but is not limited to: exhibits, space hardware, artifacts, artwork, models, electronics, shop tools, machinery, furniture, and materials. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to deploy those items at community events and conduct outreach, educating the public about NASA's mission.May direct, guide, and coordinate activities of teamteams of property personnel performing complex activitiesResponsible for operations related to Government Property administration covering the FAR property outcomes Responsible for care, control, storage, maintenance of artifactsResponsible for maintenance planning, repair and damage mitigation plans for collectionResponsible for documentation and tracking of property out on loanDevelop metrics related to internal control goals and objectives for programprojectevent auditedImplement program control documents to ensure Property Custodians and end users have the property knowledge needed to operate government property Responsible for all aspects related to Property Survey Reports, ensuring sufficient information is provided to support a clear understanding of the circumstances surrounding the loss, damage, or destruction of Government property, developing, implementing, and monitoring corrective actions Develop, maintain, and implement property procedures covering the property outcomesResponsible for ensuring adherence to applicable regulations, policies, and proceduresResponsible for generating routine andor ad-hoc reports for management and customersWill directly interface with management, customers and the publicThis is an on site position with outreach tasks at public or community eventsSome travel requiredJob RequirementsBachelor's degree in appropriate area of specialization from an accredited college or universityTen (10) years of relevant experienceAdvanced oral and written communications, writing and editing and problem solvingAdvanced computer skills, including Microsoft Excel Ability to work independently Understanding and applying FAR 52.245-1 and NFS 1852.245-71 requirementsPreferred NPMA property certification such as CPPS, CPPA, or CPPMPreferred knowledge of industry-leading standards, such as ASTM E53Knowledge of best practices for care, management, storage and transport of heritage artifacts Physical RequirementsThe physical demands described herein are representative of those which may need to be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Employees must possess the ability to work in an office environment.If required, employees must be able to operate a motor vehicle which may require sitting for prolonged periods of time to visit other company sites. This position may require an employee to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb or balance, reach, push, and pull.
