Cost ControllerLocation: Augusta, MEOn-Site: Yes, 100%Relocation Support: YesDuration: 1 Year (Can be extended)Hourly Rate: $55hour (W2) $60hour (1099)Role & Responsibilities:Reviews and recommends appropriate actions in the processing of Owner's Cost accounts against best practice methodologies, ensuring compliance against processes and procedures, developing new and required procedures and processes as necessaryReviews planned and issued purchase requisitions for goods and services to ensure that they are within the project scope, the approved budget, and that the correct cost coding has been assignedReviews Change Requests, Change Orders and potential changes with Package Engineer, Contract Administrator and Area Manager as applicable and recommends appropriate actions to the Lead Cost Controller or Component Lead Cost ControllerDevelops, manages and reports on Owner's costsPrepares regular periodic and ad-hoc cost reportsReviews and recommends payment certificates for approvalPerforms analysis and initiates trends for all potential cost variations or risksPerforms incurred cost functions and analysis as assignedPrepares cost flows as assignedReviews and performs analysis on the DANs, PCNs of the Change Management process related to the ComponentPerforms detailed analysis to estimate trends and forecast final costDevelops, implements and hands over efficient forecasting models for use against various Commercial strategies employed by various ContractsReviews Commitment Package reports (weekly, monthly, ad-hoc, etc.)Ensures system data and integrity maintained and up to dateOther duties as assigned by the Project Controls Manager (or designate)Qualifications Requirements:University degree in engineeringbusiness administration or an equivalent combination of education, training and experienceMinimum 3 years' experience in cost management on large engineeringconstruction projects with a focus on heavy civil and industrial projects. Site experience an asset. Additional years in other disciplines on large construction project considered an assetKnowledge of Cost Management best practices (AACEI, PMI, etc.)Ability to work independently as well as part of a diverse work teamExperience in the use and application of cost management systems. experience in PM+ or Prism is an assetDemonstrated proficiency in the use of MS Excel and MS AccessStrong SAP experienceCommercially astute individual with a strong background in cost analysisExperience in claims management and productivity analysis is an assetExcellent written and verbal communication skills (English)Experience working with (or for) large national and international construction contractors considered an assetExperience with multiple contracting models and compensation terms including unit rate, lump sum and reimbursableAdaptability to perform in demanding work environments
