Our client is looking to fill the role of Network Engineer - Capacity Planning. The Network Engineer Capacity Planner will drive the planning, and delivery of capacity within Client's network and data center locations. They will manage complex infrastructure projects including capacity planning, installations, retrofits, and service migrations. The candidate will ensure the transmission network is planned with sufficient capacity to meet the shareholder's multi service requirements. Manage the network to prevent congestion, meet capacity targets and support deployment of new or upgraded sites and circuits. Ensures network capacity is the maximum amount of data that can be reliably transferred between different locations over a network.Salary: $165-$175kResponsibilities:Detailed specifications and schematic engineering drawings for network enhancements and modifications.Documentation of network topology maps, network elements, and transport circuits into our inventory systemCapacity management of mid-range systems and infrastructureCommunicate and provide capacity executive summaries to our partners and stakeholdersData analytics and capacity forecast modelsUnderstanding of hardware Infrastructure, architecture and disaster recoveryAdvisor for system and application performance improvements with other partners and stakeholdersPreferred understanding of Agile methodologiesAttending frequent project update meetings to present status of pending and ongoing projectsAssists in the execution of planned deployments and upgrades and supports change management efforts within the edge networking group, coordinates change managementParticipates in Service Now trouble ticket resolution and reportingEnsures that assigned edge networking trouble tickets or incidents follow established processes and are fully documented within Service NowAssists with tier 2 support for widespread events incidents to customers and other networking teams as neededProactively identifies and troubleshoots issues related to complex network problems and works them to resolution, including communication to other networking teamsParticipates in the evaluation of, and makes recommendations on, new and emerging technologies as part of the ongoing hardware refresh cyclesEvaluates current and future network needs and prepares technical solutions and recommendationsReviews the development of configuration standardsAssists in the design of highly complex networks as well as makes recommendations to optimize the edge network for maximum efficiencyCommunicates effectively both verbally and in writing with other employees, vendors, and business partnersMaintains a working knowledge of network monitoring tools and automationPerforms other duties as requiredRequired Qualifications:Hands on experience with routers, switches, hubs, bridges, RF Design etc. ideally within a multi-Site environment.Experience with or knowledge of most of the following: MPLS, TCPIP, Radius, BGP, OSPF, RSTP, Packets, SIPExperience with ongoing remote-site Infrastructure Assessments and related-proven ability to advise-suggest-recommend changes and updates to older or newly acquired sitesExperience with the troubleshooting, upgrades, maintenance of Network InfrastructureExperience working as the Network-Infrastructure team's key-point personExperience administering andor managing a large-scale VoIP systemExperience working as part of the design and implementation team for the network infrastructure including network security hardware and softwareCurrent or relevant with Windows Server Administration including knowledge or experience with DNS and DHCPSelf-Motivated and Detailed Oriented with excellent oral and written communication skillWorking closely with all groups within the Network team including RF Design, Real Estate, Construction, Operations, Facilities, System Performance, and the Area Planning teamManaging vendors to meet targeted network milestones and turn-up datesProviding input for budget and overall planning, working within the financial constraints of allocated budgetManaging project of new technologiesservices in the region related to wireless site engineering and operationsAdopting current and providing new methodsprocedures for interconnect trackingWorking to improve processes that assist in communication and coordination with other network teamsProviding Project coordination, traffic engineering, and resource managementCreation of Visio diagrams of the edge network to document new and existing network elements, especially those deemed specialty field networksMaintains documentation for the configuration of network components including setup, installation, and overall deployment of network hardware and softwareIf you meet the required qualifications and are interested in this role, please apply today.The Solomon Page DistinctionOur teams, comprised of subject matter experts, develop an interest in your preferences and goals and we act as an advisor for your career advancement.
