The Senior HR Manager, Employee Labor Relations and OPS manages and provides leadership on all employeelabor relations matters for Good Samaritan Hospital. This position collaborates with HR team members on EmployeeLabor Relations matters that impact all facilities within the Charity Health System. Responsibilities:• Provides support and leadership to all levels of the Management team by assisting them in navigating through employeelabor relations issues to include education on the union contract provisions and developing strategies to manage employeelabor relations issues. • Facilitates and mediates discussions between Management and the union leadership to obtain mutual agreement and resolution on identified issues. • Participates in UnionManagement meetings to include Labor Management, Staffing Guidelines, Professional Practice, Home Care Labor Management and the Jobs Committee. • Provides formulized education in group setting for Management on the union contract as well as legal topics such as Wage and Hour Law and other topics as needed or requested. • Administers hearing and adjudication of third step grievances; may represent the Hospital at arbitrations and proceedings related to complaints files with the Division of Human Rights, EEOC, Department of Labor, National Relations Board and other agencies. • Works with WMC legal on these issues. • Investigates and prepares written response to mandatory overtime complaints. • Participates in all facets of labor contract negotiations done locally at Good Samaritan Hospital. • Provides guidance and direction to the Management team on addressing employee performance issues through the corrective action process. Reviews and edits corrective actions as needed before they are issued to the employee. • Works with the Corporate Responsibility office in conducting investigations into compliance issues and recommending corrective action to be taken if applicable at the conclusion of the investigation. • Supervises investigations and staff action regarding complaints of discrimination or harassment. • Assists employees on a daily basis with any HR related matters; answering questions; trouble shooting identified issues i.e., preparing documents to have an employee reinstated to their union medical plan. • Performs other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS:Experience: Minimum of eight to ten year of experience in labor relationshuman resources administration.Experience working with unions in a hospital setting required.Education: Requires a professional level of knowledge of Human Resource Management generally acquired through completion of a master's degree in human resource management, Industrial Relations or a related field.Licenses Certifications: SHRM- SCP preferred.
