Land Survey Project ManagerElk Grove Village, IllinoisJob DescriptionYour ImpactA Geomatics Project Manager is responsible for supervising a team of technicians to complete large-scale survey projects following the minimum standards of practice and client requirements. This position is often the key point of contact with clients and also includes the oversight and reporting of budgets and utilization of resources. Project Managers duties include proposal writing, staff development, business development, and the oversight of the day-to-day operations of teams on multiple projects. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorilyDemonstrates the Company's vision and mission, while successfully performing its core values related to employees, ethics, operational excellence, safety, integrity and corporate social responsibilityExecute work plan and monitor staffing requirements for projectsLead staff and provide them with a clear explanation of the scopeSupervise technicians and field crews to complete large-scale projectManage scope, budget, and QAQC for assigned project dutiesPlan and implement procedures and systems to maximize operating efficiencyReview performance data (financial, budgets, sales and activity reports) to monitor and measure productivity, goal progress and activity levelsServe as Company representative at meetings and presentationsDevelop and maintain positive client relationshipsParticipate in business development opportunities and maintain strong client relationshipPerform other tasks as assigned to help accomplish the Company's strategic goalsThis position has direct supervisory responsibilities of employees to include mentoring, coaching, and counseling staff as needed.What You Bring5+ years of industry related work experience in a professional or management capacityAssociateBachelor's degree in related disciplineand or equivalent experienceDemonstrated experience in projectphase management for large scale projectsStrong proficiency with or understanding of tools such as AutoCAD, TBC, Micro Station, MS Office SuiteExcellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to clearly define assignmentsdeliverables to team membersAbility to oversee, mentor and motivate a project teamAbility to troubleshoot issues and problem solve on the flyAbility to meet or exceed aggressive deadlines while maintaining teamwork and collaboration with othersProfessional License requiredWho We AreFor over thirty years, SAM has built a reputation as a trusted, knowledgeable, and innovative partner.
