Normal Work Schedule (Other):: University Hours: 8:00am - 5:00pm, Monday - Friday Position Work Hours: 37.5 hours per week. Job Responsibilities The Assistant Athletic Trainer assists in the daily operation of the two Athletic training facilities and will assume the responsibility of the proper medical care, prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries. Primary team assignments will be determined based on the applicant's interest and team availability. At times during the year, you might be asked to assist with coverage of other sports. There is minimal to no travel required with this position. Minimum and Additional Requirements A Bachelor's of Arts or Science in Athletic training. Must be NATABOC certified or eligible to sit for the exam in the spring of 2024 and be eligible for State of South Carolina licensure. Professional rescuer CPR/AED certification. Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills. A valid driver's license and safe driving history are required. Must have strong skills in providing excellent customer service and demonstrate strong ethics. Preferred Qualifications A master's degree. Demonstrated experience in intercollegiate athletics, particularly in injury prevention and rehabilitation. Advanced rehabilitation techniques such as: Graston, FMS, active release therapy, or other manual or IASTM methods. Certified through the Red Cross or American Heart Association as a CPR/First Aid instructor. Additional Comments Must have the ability to communicate effectively with faculty, staff, student, and other constituents on campus. Must have understanding of current athletic training techniques in regards to the recognition, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries. Experience working with a variety of sports is beneficial. Experience working as a member of a comprehensive sports medicine team is crucial.
