We are currently searching for an experienced Field Engineer (Survey) to support current and future marine construction projects. What You Will Do: This position requires a 2:1 rotating schedule and the ability to travel to project sites. The Field Engineer (Survey) is responsible for all aspects of Survey within our marine construction projects including providing technical/operational expertise to the Operations Team. This includes the collecting, processing and reporting of all surveys to both the operations team and the Admin team. In addition, the Field Engineer (Survey) generates and reviews project survey requirements from completion to final approval. The Field Engineer is also responsible assisting the Project Manager in establishing, maintaining and performing all duties required to provide administrative support for dredging project jobsites. Lead survey team and Manage Survey Assets (Boat, Trailer, Sonar, etc.) Develop project plan with project management Capture and Utilize survey data to advise/plan daily dredge plan Act as the lead contact for our clients on all survey matters Collect and interpret data to aid both the current project and provide the bid team with production data to use as part of the bidding process What Skills You Have: Mental Aptitudes Required: Experience in identifying and anticipating design/production work sequence conflicts required Excellent written and oral communication skills required Demonstrated knowledge of scheduling, possess an ability to monitor progress to schedule and adhere to strict deadlines required Willingness and ability to spend time onboard the vessel going up and down staircases and vertical ladders required Innovative Thinking - ability to look beyond the standard solutions Integrity - demonstrated commitment to ethical principles and guidelines Efficiency - ability to multi-task and work efficiently in an environment with many interruptions Self-motivated team player with a strong work ethic Ability to effectively manage projects that vary in nature and scope Strong management and organizational skills Strong negotiation skills both verbal and written Ability to understand and execute complex oral and written instructions Ability to work independently with minimal or no guidance Ability to get along with office staff and vessel crewmembers Confidence to initiate correspondence with crewmembers and staff Must be able to read, speak, write, type, and understand English in person and over the telephone Work outside as well as inside in an office environment. Must comply with all work rules, including those that pertain to safety and health Physical Aptitudes Required: Must meet "fit for duty" requirements upon job offer (pre-employment physical and drug test) The employee must meet physical requirements including but not limited to, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing up/down ladders and stairs, negotiating uneven and moving surfaces Must be comfortable entering tanks and other confined spaces Ability to lift up to 40 pounds unassisted Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus Ability to work when exposed to odors, dust, dirt, mechanical hazards, high noise levels, and potentially hazardous equipment You must have the following required qualifications: 1+ years experience in Survey, ideally hydrographic Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office desktop programs, especially MS Excel Familiar with AutoCAD, Hypack and/or other Survey software It would be nice for you to currently have: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management preferred U.S. Passport, or ability to obtain Valid TWIC (or ability to get one) Familiar with RMS 3.0 desirable Knowledge of MS Project or Primavera P6 desirable OSHA 30-Hour certification desirable Ability to operate small marine vessels preferred USACE CQC certification desirable If you like what you've read, and are ready to join us, APPLY TODAY!
