POSITION PURPOSE The Applications Engineer is responsible for providing timely and knowledgeable technical solutions as well as accurate and profitable product customization quotes to BAC Sales Channels to enhance their ability to sell BAC products. KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering Strong mechanical and technical aptitude in order to develop an in-depth knowledge of BAC's extensive product offering Requires excellent written communication and phone skills, flexibility in handling a wide range of tasks, attention to detail, and effective interpersonal and presentation skills Proficient in the use of office software programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SAP. Strong team player orientation required to provide customer satisfaction in a dynamic environment, with a customer-focused (internal and external), "can-do", professional demeanor, and sense of urgency Ability to resolve complex problems accurately and in a timely manner Strong attention to detail, and customer solution focused Requires excellent written communication and phone skills, flexibility in handling a wide range of tasks, and effective interpersonal and presentation skills Datacenter design/operational experience is a plus NATURE & SCOPE Reporting to the Global Application Manager, provides technical applications support and customized quotes to BAC Sales Channels worldwide through oral and written communication, in a timely and accurate fashion. This position will have interaction with all levels of Corporate Headquarters and the North American manufacturing plants. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES Provide BAC Representatives with equipment selections, competitive product strategy, and systems knowledge Provide technical applications support and customization quotes to BAC Representatives worldwide through oral and written communication in a timely and accurate fashion Assist Warranty Services and end users in troubleshooting problems with installed equipment Interact with all departments at BAC (Marketing, Customer Service, Manufacturing, Engineering, Warranty Services, Sales, Credit) to support quotations and orders Organize data and tools to improve the Product Applications process - Work with Engineering and Customer Service to improve order flow and processing of product customizations Commissioning support for new installations ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES Prepare and present technical presentations and training to department team members, or sales representatives, as required Occasional travel to plants, representative offices or job sites visits to inspect installations, gather competitive information and give technical presentations to customers Become technical expert and support resource for immersion cooling Direct communication and co-ordination between consultants, end users and internal sales teams TRAVEL To develop and manage opportunities, regular travel is required to representative offices, consulting engineer offices, project sites, manufacturing facilities, etc. Travel up to 15% WORKING CONDITIONS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
