Responsibilities for this Position Position Title: Hazardous Materials Operator - St. Louis, MO Date: Oct 15, 2024 Location: St. Louis, GA, US Company: Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation Hazardous Materials Operator - St. Louis, MO in GAC St. Louis Unique Skills: We are looking for an individual that is interested in learning the RCRADOT regulations through the day-to-day management of the sites hazardous and non-hazardous waste streams. This individual will work with the site EHS team to learn the necessary competencies for this position. Education and Experience Requirements High School Diploma or GED required. 3 years hazardous materials operations. Position Purpose: Under general supervision, the Hazardous Material Operator is responsible for the day to day operation of the wastewater treatment system and the proper on-site handling, storage, recovery and disposal of hazardous waste materials. Job Description Principle Duties and Responsibilities: Essential Functions: * Communicate with Safety Representative to identify hazardous material documentation, handling storage, and disposal requirements. * Maintain a current knowledge of Federal, State, and Corporate Hazardous Materials regulations and procedures. * Identify hazardous materialwaste requirements that pertain to documentation, storage, handling, and disposal. * Identify alternative products or processes that would minimize waste streams whenever possible. * Ensure that wastewater treatment equipment is operating as designed and monitor the condition and performance of key components. * Maintain accurate records of treatment processes, materials, quantities and test results. * Accomplish, monitor or direct the quantities and types of hazardous materials collected and stored and arrange for the legal and timely disposal of products. * Developmaintain a training program on internal hazardous waste storage and disposal procedures. Additional Functions: * 1. Arrange for and perform maintenance functions of the applicable equipment as required. . * 2. Verify that the paint hangar waste production does not exceed the intake capacity of the wastewater treatment system. . Perform other duties as assigned. Other Requirements: * A working knowledge of Federal, State, and Corporate regulations. * Basic math skills are required. * Knowledge of procedures for the handling, storage and disposal of hazardous materials, and possession of associated certifications.
