Description Under the direction of Hazardous Materials Coordinator or supervisor in the Hazardous Materials Emergency Response Program, responds to releases or potential releases of hazardous materials requiring the use of chemical protective equipment Level D through Level A for the purpose of protecting public health, safety, welfare, and the environment. Also contains releases from safe distances to keep the release from spreading and to prevent exposure, is responsible for the issuance of complete and comprehensive incident reports, does related work as required. Requirements: Must meet the minimum requirements listed on the NJCSC Job Description Must be available for after-hours on-call duty Valid NJ Driver's License Job Duties and Responsibilities: * Respond as a member of the hazmat team 24 hour 7-days a week * Use of chemical protective equipment Level D through Level A * Must be able to wear Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) * Identifies, classifies, and verifies known and unknown hazardous materials using field monitoring equipment. * Attends training sessions associated with assigned duties.
