For information on our international network visit Job Summary: Supports logistics operations by assisting with daily oversight and direction of internal team of drivers to ensure trucking operations targets and deadlines are met; operates commercial vehicles used to transport equipment and materials to internal and external customer sites. Main Responsibilities: * Embrace the Company's safety culture, actively support all safety initiatives, and adhere to defined accountabilities implemented by the Safety Steering and Continuous Improvement teams * Support, promote, and practice the Company core values, vision, and mission; follow code of ethics, workplace conduct, safety, and other established policies * Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of truck drivers, providing guidance and support to ensure they meet performance and safety standards; train new drivers in company policies, procedures, and safety protocols, and provide ongoing coaching and development to the team * Manage internal driver's and truck's schedules based on Logistics Supervisor's schedule requirements * Conduct daily HASP meetings and weekly safety meetings * Ensure that all team members adhere to safety regulations, including the proper loading and unloading of cargo, securing loads, and complying with DOT regulations * Coordinate with operations and customers haul routes and delivery patterns when delivering materials and equipment to internal and external projects * Collaborate with logistics team to plan optimal routes, schedules, and load assignments, considering factors like traffic, weather conditions, and delivery deadlines * Perform pre-and post-trip safety inspections on truck to ensure safe operation of vehicles; maintain clean vehicle * Ensure safe operation of vehicle; document and report required maintenance andor repair to maintenance team (service department) * Maintain accurate documentation related to job assignments as required by the Company * Maintain clear and timely communication with the Logistics Supervisor and other team members to ensure smooth operations * Maintain driver logs according to state and federal regulations * Remain up to date on FMSCA and DOT regulations * Obtain all necessary permits for Simon owned trucks as needed * Manage Fleetwatcher dispatching and virtual ticketing in Logistics Supervisor's absence * Perform other projects and duties related to role as assigned Education: * High school diploma or equivalent * Class A CDL with endorsements and valid medical card required Skills: * 3+ years of commercial driving experience; experience operating multiple types of vehiclescombinations highly preferred * Prior experience in a manufacturing, construction, or similar environment preferred * Ability to provide direction to others, and ability to provide constructive feedback to support continuous improvement * Ability to interact professionally with internal and external customers and other team members * Solid knowledge of DOT guidelines and safety regulations related to the role * Ability and willingness to operate multiple types of commercial vehicles, including but not limited to belly dumps, side dumps, end dumps, water trucks, etc. * Ability to maintain a clean driving record and compliance with applicable FMCSA CDL driver requirements * Ability to read and write, and understand English Physical Requirements: * Wear and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) as required * Occasionally required to lift andor move up to 50 pounds * Required to work from a seated position driving a commercial vehicle for long periods * Regularly required to climb in and out of vehicles andor equipment * Regularly required to use hands to handle and manipulate objects, including vehicle components, and secure hoses, chains, andor couplings, write, use a keyboard, andor mobile device * Regularly required to communicate (talk and hear), and perform tasks requiring visual acuity * Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and walk across uneven terrain * Regularly exposed to typical construction site conditions, including all outdoor weather conditions, dust, and airborne particles, fuel, oil, and other chemicals * Travel with overnight stays away from home may be required Benefits and Perks: * Choice of 3 Medical Plan Options * Prescription Drug Coverage * Dental and Vision Plans * Flexible Spending Account or Health Savings Options * Access to Telemedicine and Healthcare Advocacy Services * Paid Parental Leave * Employee Assistance Program * Life and AD&D Insurance * Disability Insurance * Paid Time Off and Paid Holidays * 401(k) Savings Plan with Company Match * Product and Service Group Discount Programs The information contained herein is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of the duties and responsibilities of the job, nor are they intended to be an all-inclusive list of the skills and abilities required to do the job.
